OVERVIEW
❖Citizenship training is an effective strategy to enhance
the student's social responsibility and commitment to the
development of their communities and to develop the
ability to uphold the law and order as they assume active
participations in the community activities.
❖This module develops the character of the students to
become more mindful to the responsibilities, rights, and
their roles in the society.

OVERVIEW
✓ History of NSTP
• 1935- COMMONWEALTH ACT NO.1 (NATIONAL DEFENSE ACT) BY: PRESIDENT MANUEL L.
QUEZON
• The National Defense Act of 1935 (Commonwealth Act No. 1) was passed by the Philippine
National Assembly on December 21, 1935. The purpose of this act was to create an
independent Philippine Army; this was interrupted by World War II.
• 1980- PRESIDENTIAL DECREE NO. 1706 (NATIONAL SERVICE LAW) BY: PRESIDENT
FERDINAND MARCOS
• Providing for Compulsory National Service for Filipino Citizens and Amending Certain

Lesson 3: Philippine Constitution
❖Preamble
The preamble of the Constitution provides that we should
establish a Government which shall conserve and develop our
patrimony. Our "patrimony" includes our public forests,
mangroves, wildlife, and flora and fauna which should be
conserved, protected, and renewed.

Responsibilities of Filipino Citizen
DUTIES AND OBLIGATIONS OF CITIZENS
• Section 1. It shall be the duty of the citizen to be loyal to the Republic
and to honor the Philippine flag, to defend the State and contribute to
its development and welfare, to uphold the Constitution and obey the
laws, and to cooperate with the duly constituted authorities in the
attainment and preservation of a just and orderly society.
• Section 2. The rights of the individual impose upon him the correlative
duty to exercise them responsibly and with due regard for the rights of
others.
• Section 3. It shall be the duty of every citizen to engage in gainful work
to assure himself and his family a life worthy of human dignity.
• Section 4. It shall be the obligation of every citizen qualified to vote to
register and cast his vote.
Instructions
• A photo essay is a set of photographs selected to tell a story or make
the viewer feel a certain emotion.
• Using your cellphone or camera, take a picture that represents each
virtue.
• Choose only one sub values for every concept, one (1) photo for one
(1) sub virtue.
• The student should be seen in every photo.
• For every photo, put a caption and explain the connection between
the photos and your chosen sub value. Explain how it can serve as a
good example for the youth in your community.
• Deadline of submission is until
