The document argues for the mandatory implementation of school uniforms, highlighting benefits such as cost savings for parents, reduced peer pressure, and decreased bullying. It suggests that uniforms create an equal playing field for students of all economic backgrounds and allows them to focus more on education rather than fashion. However, it also acknowledges that dress codes may not address deeper issues like stereotyping and bullying, which require more comprehensive solutions.

School uniform is mandatory

students often care more about fashion than getting an education. For
many years, people have been arguing about the idea of making school
uniforms mandatory. Some schools already require their students to
wear uniforms, but others are still deciding whether to make it
mandatory or not. Schools that have already implemented this policy
have seen the benefits of it. School uniforms should be required
because it saves time and lot of money for the parents, reduces peer
pressure and bullying, and helps prevent the use of inappropriate
clothing in a formal institute. First of all, school uniforms should be
required because it saves time and a lot of money for the parents.
When students aren’t required to wear uniforms, kids and parents have
to wake up earlier every morning to decide what would be the perfect
outfit of the day. Like for example, kids who usually have to dress are
more likely to get late at school in the morning. Having to wear
Another significant problem with student dress codes is that they are
only temporary fixes to major problems such as stereotyping, bullying,
violence, and substandard grades. These problems need to be faced
each individually and with a specific set of instruments in order to
effectively counteract the destruction these problems can cause. One
must attack the seed of each problem destroying the roots to make sure
said problem never occurs again. When one looks at a student and says
he cannot achieve simply based on his dress then the problem of
stereotyping is at hand. In order to fight this problem we need to attack
one 's thinking. We need to teach our students that judging someone
based off looks is the wrong action, and that we should rather judge
someone on their works and character. Simply looking at outside
appearances will not help one make a decision on the character of a
person. While dress codes do help with the perception of the student, if
we could teach to look at the inside character of someone rather than
what they are wearing the need for dress codes would simply cease to
exist(Herbon,2000). Studies have shown that dress codes reduce
bullying in schools, with some reporting it reduced it 's bullying to as
low as 64%. While this is an important factor in the reduction of
bullying among schools, if one taught how to appreciate others for their
differences and to judge based off of character then bullying would be
significantly reduced even if dress codes are not enforced in said school.
The enforcement of dress codes to combat substandard grades is only a
basic solution for a complex problem. Programs that encourage
academic achievement could be instituted in order to help spike
interest in higher learning, or one could cut down the size of classes so
one gets the attention needed to excel an receive high grades, or even
the improvement of curriculum. One researchers says that spending
time on dress codes detracts from anyone finding real solutions to the
problems at hand. They create an equal playing field for children of all
economic backgrounds, rather that be rich or poor. My opponent would
say that due to dress codes student bullying was dramatically
decreased. One could say that uniforms provide a cheaper alternative
for parents who cannot afford the price of buying multiple outfits for
the school year. When purchasing uniforms parents only have to wash
and reuse the select amount of uniforms they have chosen to buy. The
need to meet the latest trend is washed out with and met with a sense
of uniformity and commandery. One might say that students no longer
have to focus on fashion, and can simply apply their attention to other
alternatives such as school work to improve grades.

With clothes being taken away as an option to express oneself, one

might turn to more drastic measure to express the individualism one
has with options such as inappropriate accessories, piercings, or radical
hairstyles.
