7. Training of AITs:
2 numbers of Master trainers from each districts have already been trained
on this programme as well as proper handling of SSS to get betier conception rate &
assured pregnancy. Further districts will take initiative for training of rest of AITs at
their level within shortest possible time.
8. Parentage verification / Sire confirmation test

AITs of the IA must'register all calves (male and female) born under the
project in INAPH within 15 days. NDDB would select AI technicians of each IA for
verification of Sex ratio in calves and parentage verification /sire
confirmation.Collection of blood samples (EDTA vacutainers) from the selected
calves and its submission to NDDB lab would be responsibility of IA.The cost
towards consumables for collection of blood samples, and courier charges for
dispatch of samples to NDDB lab would be reimbursed on actual basis, subject to
maximum of Rs.70l sample.

9. Roles and Responsibilities Implementing Agency (IA)OLRDS/ District

project activities.
2. Creating awareness among the farmers about the project and its benefits.
3, To ensure refund of amount to the farmer, in case the animals failed to get
pregnant with up to 2 AIs with sexed semen or in case of birth of a male calf.
4. To place purchase order to the SS-Supplier for sexed semen doses with a
copy marked to NDDB.
5. Send their technical representative(s) to the SS-Supplier's premises/ the
semen station(s) to check quality of the sexed semen doses w.r.t. progressive
motility and sperm concentration.
6. Facilitate SS-Supplier to organise training to AI technicians.

7. Release of payment to the SS-Supplier after receipt of the consignment of sexed

semen doses as per the payment terms.
8. Submit two random samples of sexed semen doses per batch to NDDB for
testing the ratio of X: Y chromosome bearing spermatozoa within l5 days of
receipt of sexed semen doses from the supplier(s).
9. Ensure that AI center and AI technician details are registered in
INAPH.
10. Provide the district wise Iist of identified AI centres and'AJT IDs under this project
to NDDB for linking in the INAPH database.
I l. To ensure data entry in INAPH pertaining to Animal registration with 12 digit
unique ear tag ID, AI, PD, Calving, Calf registration with l2 digit unique ear tag ID
in INAPH by the AITs.
I2. To verify as well as certify the pregnancy status of all animals inseminated using
sexed semen under the project.
I3. To ensure payment of incentives to AITs as per the guidelines.
14. To provide logistic support to NDDB officers during the monitoring visits to the
project.
15. To arrange collection, labelling and dispatch of blood samples of the calves as per
the list provided by NDDB for parentage or sire confirmation test.

l2.Monitoring of the project
Monitoring, activities by NDDB
All the activities under the project will be monitored
by National Dairy
Development Board (ivDDB) as Nodal Monitoring Agency
ovcr duration of
five years throughout the country.

For effective monitoring of the project,

official from NDDB will be assigned
to each IA. Following activities would
be monitored;
l. Monthry progress report (MpR): It wilr be
availabre in INApH MIS
portar. IA may download the physicar progress
report from the
portar and use it for periodic review and
monitoring of the project
activities. The signed copy of MpR will
be submitted by IA to NDDB
' NDDB will review the MPRs and consolidated reports
submitted to
DAHD.
 2. Monitoring visit: lr." in each
NDDB officials wilr visit rhe project
quarter and carry out random field verification of activities of
selected AITs and submit the monitoring visit report to IA for
appropriate action.
3. verification of inforpation uploaded on INApH database by the
Monitoring officer at regular interval from the INAPH MIS portal.
4. NDDB will arrange review meetings of projects periodically.
NDDB would select AITs in each [A for verification of sex ratio
among the calves. All calves born through sexed semen AI by these
AITs would be tested for parentage or Sire confirmation to confirm
the sex ratio of the sexed semen supplied by the supplier.
6. The parentage or sire confirmation process will start after Io
months of AI with sexed semen in each IA.

Monitoring at the level of Gall Center:

Call centre established under NADCP programme shall be utilized for
verification of AI conducted, and female calves born under the project.
Information received from the call centre shall be analysed by IA for
taking remedial measures.

Monitoring of the project by IAs.

IAs should monitor all activities of the project through their field level
institutions. Verification of information entered by AIT in the INAPH
database shall be conducted by local Veterinarian/ DAHO or other field
officials of IA on dailv basis.
