Lesson Plan – Conversation Skills (Reading and Writing)

Lesson Title: The Lost Dog.


Duration of the video :

Language Level : Elementary

Language spoken : Hindi/ English

Time Duration of each activity :

LESSON CONTENT :

● Warmer- The warmer involves ‘Anagrams’ where


students get to make new words from the word
shown/written on screen/board. This helps in building
vocabulary and also allows communication and
participation.

● Context setting - The picture of a lost dog is shown to


help the students predict the topic.

● Reading the text - The reading part involves the


learners reading a poster about a lost dog. Helping
them memorise the important information.

● Writing - The writing part involves the correction and


completion questions related to the topic, followed by
the writing assessment.

● Vocabulary - Reviewing all the new words learnt


throughout the lesson.
OBJECTIVES: At the end of the lesson students will be able to

● answer the Correction and Completion Questions from

the Reading text.

● do a writing task based on the topic.

● Learn new words related to the topic.

ENABLING OBJECTIVES :
1. (Warmer) –feel comfortable and be energised.
2. (Context setting) –respond to the visual aid and predict the topic
3. ( Reading) Reading of the main text is done. Since Skimming is used for larger
texts and paragraphs Scanning will be used for this text. Followed by the ‘WH’
questions, completion and correction questions.
4. (Post Reading/ Writing)- The writing task is shown on the board/screen ( about
the teacher’s favourite animal.) Students write about their favourite animal as
indicated by the teacher. The teacher can also ask the student to read about
his/her written text.
5. (Vocabulary)- The teacher writes all the new words learnt by the students.
