D. Answer the following questions:

a. What do you mean by computer language?

Ans. A computer language is a formal language used to communicate instructions to

a computer. These languages are used to write programs that control the behaviour
of a machine or to express algorithms. Examples: Python, Java, C++, and many
others.

b. What is Machine Language? Give example.

Ans. Machine language is the lowest-level programming language, consisting of
binary code (0s and 1s) that is directly executed by a computer’s CPU. Example:
1000110
c. What is high level computer language?
Ans. A high-level computer language is a programming language that is more
abstract and easier for humans to read and write compared to low-level languages
like machine or assembly languages.
d. Differentiate between an interpreter and a compiler.
Ans. Interpreter: Translates and executes code line-by-line. It reads the source code
and executes it directly, which makes debugging easier but can result in slower
execution times.
Compiler: Translates the entire source code into machine code before execution. This
process creates an executable file, which can run independently of the source code.
Compiled programs generally run faster than interpreted ones.
e. What is assembly language? What is an assembler?
Ans. Assembly language is a low-level programming language that uses mnemonic
codes and labels to represent machine-level code and concerned software is called
assembler.
