Site Preparation:
1. Ensure that the surface to which the plaster is to be applied is clean, dry, and free of any debris or
contaminants.
2. Inspect the walls for any structural issues such as cracks or uneven surfaces. These should be
rectified before proceeding.
3. Measure the dimensions of the wall to calculate the amount of Saint-Gobain Elite 100 One-Coat
Plaster required.
4. Ensure that all safety measures are in place, such as clear pathways and proper scaffolding for
access.
Safety Considerations:
1. All workers should wear appropriate PPE, including gloves, dust masks, safety goggles, and helmets.
2. Ensure tools and equipment are in good working condition before use.
3. Maintain a safe working environment by ensuring the site is free from trip hazards, clutter, and
unprotected edges.
4. If working at heights, ensure the use of scaffolding or ladders that are secure and comply with
safety standards.
4. Installation Procedure
Step 1: Installation of G.I Corner Beads
1. Cutting the Corner Beads:
o Use a hacksaw or metal cutter to cut the 25 x 25 x 1mm thick G.I corner beads to the
required lengths for each wall corner.
2. Fixing the Corner Beads:
o Position the G.I corner beads at the corners of the wall, ensuring that they are straight and
aligned with the edges.
o Fix the corner beads in place using nails, screws, or other suitable fasteners. Ensure that the
beads are secure, with no movement.
o Use a spirit level to check that the corner beads are vertically aligned.
o The corner beads should be positioned flush with the wall surface for a smooth finish.
Step 2: Preparing the Surface for Plastering
1. Dampening the Surface:
o Lightly spray the wall surface with water to dampen it. This helps in better adhesion of the
plaster to the wall.
o Ensure the surface is not overly wet, as excessive moisture can affect the plaster’s setting.
2. Mixing the Plaster:
o In a clean bucket, mix the Saint-Gobain Elite 100 One-Coat Plaster with water according to
the manufacturer’s instructions.
o Use a mixing paddle or electric drill to mix the plaster to a smooth, lump-free consistency.
The plaster should have a thick, creamy texture.

Step 3: Applying the Plaster
1. Applying the First Coat:
o Using a trowel or float, apply a base coat of Saint-Gobain Elite 100 One-Coat Plaster onto
the dampened surface of the wall.
o Apply the plaster in thin, even layers, ensuring that the entire surface is covered.
o Ensure the plaster is applied evenly and smoothly, working from the bottom to the top of
the wall. Use a spirit level to confirm that the layer is even and flat.
2. Smoothing the Surface:
o After applying the first layer, smooth the surface using the float or trowel. Apply light
pressure to eliminate any ridges or unevenness.
o Allow the plaster to set slightly before applying the second layer, if necessary, to ensure
smoothness and avoid a rough finish.
3. Ensuring Even Thickness:
o Ensure the plaster layer is applied to the desired thickness (usually between 2-4mm
depending on the surface and application requirements). The plaster should be uniform
across the entire surface.
Step 4: Finishing and Smoothing
1. Final Smoothing:
o After the plaster has partially set, use a clean, damp trowel or sponge to smooth the surface
to a fine finish.
o This step will help remove any marks or tool impressions, ensuring a professional and
smooth finish.
2. Edge Protection:
o Ensure that the G.I corner beads are well-incorporated into the plaster layer. The beads
should be fully covered, and the plaster should extend slightly over the edge to provide
protection.
3. Allow Plaster to Dry:
o Allow the plaster to dry for the recommended time, typically 24-48 hours depending on
environmental conditions.
o Avoid touching or disturbing the plaster until it has fully set to ensure a smooth and durable
finish.
Step 5: Final Inspection and Touch-Up
1. Inspection:
o Inspect the plastered surface for any imperfections, cracks, or areas that may need
additional plastering.
o Check that the G.I corner beads are intact and that the plaster is evenly distributed across
the surface.
2. Sanding:
o Once the plaster is fully dry, lightly sand the surface using fine-grit sandpaper to remove any
rough patches or bumps. Be careful around the corners to avoid damaging the corner
beads.
o If needed, apply a final thin layer of joint compound to smooth out any remaining uneven
areas, followed by a light sanding once dry.
3. Cleaning:
QUALITY

GC
WMS/EIPL/Cisco
o Clean the area by removing any dust or debris left over from sanding and application.
o Remove any excess plaster from tools and equipment to ensure they are in good condition
for future use.
5. Post-Installation Cleaning and Safety Measures
1. Cleaning the Work Area:
o Remove all debris, empty containers, and tools from the work area.
o Dispose of any waste materials according to the site's waste management plan.
2. PPE and Safety:
o Ensure all workers remove PPE and store tools properly after the work is completed.
o Conduct a final walk-through to ensure no hazardous conditions remain in the workspace.
6. Conclusion
The Saint-Gobain Elite 100 One-Coat Plaster has been successfully applied to the internal walls with the
protection of 25 x 25 x 1mm thick G.I corner beads at all corners. The plaster surface has been smoothed
and finished as per the specifications, with the edges well-protected to prevent any damage. The
installation is now ready for further finishing or painting as required.
