CHAPTER THREE
3.1 Technical Aspect of the Internship
To be successful in the future one should have a theoretical as well as a practical skill at the
same time.

If one can have those two skills he/she can face the reality and became successful.

Theoretical and practical skills goes together one can’t live without the other.

As a practicing architect in those 2 months of internship I improved many things regarding to

those skills.

In those 2 months my responsibilities were doing new plan, 3D modelling and rendering,
Interior designing.

3.1.1 Objectives
The objective of technical task is to develop our mind one step up from visualizing and dreaming
in the paper to the correct and the real world and to show how things are done professionally in
the real world. In short it’s a place of introducing us to the reality.

 To improve my creativity skills

 To have good communication and active participation in a group

 To know how professional or outside world’s works are done

 To change theoretical knowledge to practical

 To increase the ability of using soft wares and with great speed

 To understand how works are done

 To have Good interaction with colleagues

 To show the difference between learning and working

21
3.1.2 Methods and procedures
Basically, Skynos Architectural and Construction Consultant P.L.C office mostly uses Autodesk
Revit for finalizing the 3D part and AutoCAD for 2D Planning Respectively.

Then after the deep consultation and discussion with firms then 2D Planning, 3D modelling, and
Presentation are carried out by the employed architect.

Software applications: -
During this internship period different types of software’s were used these are:

AutoCAD: For working drawing, drafting.

Autodesk Revit: To model the 3D Modelling and drafting.

Lumion: used for rendering the 3d done using arch cad and Revit.

Adobe Photoshop and illustrator: For floor presentation and for final plot.

3.1.3 Technical tasks/products

By participating in all my internships, I was able to improve my practical skills in different
functions of the project and, tried to do different technical tasks mostly more time for façade
design, building function, making a painting on Revit and other.

1. Different software skills

2. Communication skill

3. Making and reading a working drawing

3.1.4 Knowledge and Acquaintances Acquired

The knowledge gained during this internship period can be seen in different categories such as: -

3.1.4.1. Technical skills Gained

The main objective of the internship is to improve our practical skill and to associate our
self with the working environment. The internship program has helped us to clear up the
illusions that were in our mind about work life (work habits) when we were in the campus.
It was also useful for the improvement that we get on different skills in practical way. We
have also improved our practical skills in a way that the difference is visible.

22
Technically I became very proficient with 3D modelling, Adobe programs, and soft material
rendering. Such as: Revit, Sketch up, Adobe, AutoCAD 2024, and Lumion.

3.1.4.2. Management skill gained

In my internship period I have been able to learn how to manage our work and time and how to
handle stress of work. I have worked with leader who have good leadership skill in terms of
confidence, strength and patience. I saw that there was a high level of interdependence in the
office, and that each task 15 was not performed by one professional. We did most of the work as
a team and it helped me to connect with each other and the staff.

3.1.5. Contributions
My contribution during this internship period as I mentioned in the previous title was limited in
some works such as:

 Participate in Designing, Residential design, Corridor or landscape design and hotel and mixed
building design, pension design, facade design and others.

 Preparing panel and sometimes presented literature to clients

 Converting auto cad files into Revit files to change the plan into 3d without
modifications then.

23
CHAPTER FOUR
4.1 General Comments and Conclusions

4.1.1 Problems Encountered During the Internship Period

During my internship, I faced several challenges that impacted both my learning experience and overall
productivity within the office environment:

1. Disparity between Academic Learning and Professional Practice

2. Spatial Limitations

3. Submission date different.

4.1.2. General Suggestions and Comments to the Company

To optimize both employee productivity and client satisfaction, I propose a strategic

enhancement of our workspace and operational capacity.

To upgrade office facilities to include state-of-the-art technology and resources and communal
spaces that encourage interaction among team members and clients alike to bring further enhance
efficiency.
To alleviate the current workload and enhance project delivery, I suggest evaluating our
staffing levels the firm to instate other architects or may be given a chance to other
internship architects for minimizing the work load.

24
4.1.3. Summary and Conclusion

During my internship, I had the invaluable opportunity to collaborate with a seasoned team
engaged in diverse and dynamic projects. This experience not only allowed me to meet the
objectives of my internship but also exceeded my expectations in terms of professional
growth.

Over the past Two months, I have gained significant insights that have enhanced my
understanding of design principles. By revisiting certain design courses, I was able to clarify
concepts that previously eluded me. Approaching these subjects with a renewed perspective and
greater maturity has transformed my comprehension and application of architectural ideas.

The transition into the architectural office environment was seamless, as I quickly adapted to the
collaborative culture and workflow inherent in the profession. This immersive experience has
been instrumental in honing both my personal and professional skills, ultimately increasing my
efficiency as an architectural practitioner.

Conclusion

This internship has not only enriched my technical abilities but has also deepened my
appreciation for the architectural process. I am now better equipped to contribute meaningfully to
future projects, armed with the knowledge and experience gained during this transformative
period.

4.1.4. Recommendations

Future interns are advised to "make themselves," "develop themselves," and

"create on themselves."
