How to use PS2 Classics GUI V2.2.

Guide!
We have added checkboxes for you to use as references to help you see what you have
completed!

Step 1 (Launch the PS2Classics_GUI.exe):

When you launch the program, you will be presented with the UI, this may be confusing to use
when your a first time user, but rest assured this is pretty easy to use.
Page 1

Step 2:
Once the program has opened, you must make sure that the program has selected “Encrypt”
as shown in the image below.

Page 2
Step 3:
Now it’s time to choose the iso to encrypt you will see a folder icon as shown in the image below
and then locate the iso, keep in mind your iso must not be in a compressed format, it must be in
iso format in order to be recognized by the software!

Page 3

Step 4:
Once the game has been loaded up into the software, you will see two types of options those
are “Image Type” & “Target” as shown in the image below
Leave the image type alone, it will automatically choose the correct type automatically, the one
you need to focus on it the “Target” it will give you two options CEX & DEX, you need to ensure
that your iso is properly converted for “CEX” not DEX!, games will not run on ps3s not running
dex and a lot of ps3’s do not run DEX, CEX option supports CEX & PEX firmwares. Once done
click the button “Encrypt” then proceed to step 5.

Page 4
Step 5:
When you click the encrypt button a pop up will appear asking you “Do you want to append
the LIMG Segment (0x4000 bytes) to the end of this image?” you need to select the option
“Yes” shown in the image below once you choose yes it will begin the conversion.

Page 5
Step 6:
Depending on your hardware, will depend on how fast the conversion will be completed, just
wait and when it’s completed a new window will pop up asking you where to place the file. I
100% recommend placing it via your desktop to avoid confusion of where you placed it just like
in the image below:

You will notice that the file has extra words to it like this “ISO.BIN.ENC.BIN.ENC” save it to your
desktop and you will need to rename it to “ISO.BIN.ENC” shown in the image below is what
your filename should look like:

Page 6
Step 7:
Now that you named the file correctly, it’s time to add the cover art, be sure to follow this guide
to avoid your submission from being rejected: PS2 Contributions Guide & view our discord
#contributions channel on the does and don'ts and, to start adding your covers and artwork click
on the “Make PKG” tab shown in the image below:

Proceed to step 8.

Page 7
Step 8:
Now you may choose your cover art, in the image below i have added arrow to areas you can
double click on and find an image and apply to the game, you can also right mouse click to see
extra options too:

When you reach this screen you will see notices regarding placeholders. Please do not ignore
them; they must be resolved before creating your package file otherwise your game will be
rejected by our team upon submission. Please review PS2 Contributions Guide on how to also
name the game.

If you want to add music to the game we recommend using this tool: AT9&AT3 Converter to
convert mp3s to at3 all music downloaded must be in 64kbps before converting them then
choose 64kbps in the software when converting then rename the at3 file to “snd0.at3” when
completed & then add it to the game before making the pkg.

Page 8
Step 9:
When you finished step 8, your now ready to create your package file, click the “Make PKG…”
button and a new window will pop up asking you where the “ISO.BIN.ENC” file is located, this is
why we told you to have it place the file in your desktop and rename the file accordingly, once
selected a new window will be displayed indicating if an available configuration is available.

If a configuration is available you will see a window where it asks you to find the specified config
for the game usually like this SLUS_XXX.XX.CONFIG, if you see this window pop up with no
configs being displayed just click “Cancel” and the software will skip it and proceed on creating
the pkg, it will save the pkg to your desktop ready to be transferred, uploaded and to be played.
We HIGHLY RECOMMEND you test your game before you submit it, otherwise if your game is
reported by the community as not working or has bugs that makes it unplayable or unenjoyable
it will be removed from the store!

When you have tested the game please upload your game to any cloud service where we can
download your submission, please avoid using the internet archive for uploading since it’s highly
unreliable in download speeds & submit your game by creating a ticket via our discord for us to
review your submission!
