GRADING SYSTEM
SCALE OF GRADING

The following scale of grading system is applied to indicate the performance of students in a particular course in terms
of letter grade and grade point:

A+ OUTSTANDING 10 (Marks securing 90.00% and above)
A EXCELLENT 9 (Marks securing 80%-89%)
B+ VERY GOOD 8 (Marks securing 70%-79%)
B GOOD 7 (Marks securing 60%-69%)
C AVERAGE 6 (Marks securing 50%-59%)
D PASS 5 (Marks securing 40%-49%)
F FAIL 0

*Exclusive Class Interval Technique shall be followed in calculation of Grade Point. If a candidate secures 'F' grade in a
Course, or 'Abs' (Absent/Incomplete) he/she shall have to reappear in the Course in the next legitimate chance.

CALCULATION OF SGPA AND CGPA:

SGPA (Semester Grade Point Average) (Si) = (∑CiGi)/(∑Ci)

Ci= Number of credits for the ith course

Gi= Grade point obtained in the ith course

The SGPA is the ratio of the sum of the product of the number of credits with the grade points scored by a student in all
the courses taken by a student and the sum of the number of credits of all the courses undergone by a student.

CGPA (Cumulative Grade Point Average)

The CGPA is also calculated in the same manner taking in to account all the courses undergone by a student over all
the semesters of a programme.

CGPA(Si) = ∑CiSi / ∑Ci

The SGPA and CGPA shall be rounded off to two decimal points and reported in the Grade Sheet/Transcripts.

Conversion of CGPA in to percentage (%): CGPA will be multiplied by 10.

Percentage of marks= (CGPA×10)
