Types of numbers in Ordinary form

Any number that is not in St form it means that number is in Ordinary form. Two types of
ordinary numbers
a) Numbers less than 1
b) Numbers greater than 10
Examples of numbers less than 1
1) 0.0004569
2) 0.04535

Examples of numbers greater than 10

1) 20045
2) 2030
3) 234 × 105
Converting from Ordinary form to St form

 To express the number 2030 in the form 𝑎 × 10𝑛 using scientific notation, you can follow these steps:
 Original Number
The original number is 2030
 Move the Decimal Point
Move the decimal point to the left of the first non-zero digit, which is 2.03 in this case.
 Determine the Power of 10
Count the number of places you moved the decimal point. Since you moved it 3 places to the
left, the power of 10 will be positive (as you are dealing with a number greater than 10).
 Write in Standard Notation
Combine the number obtained in step 1 and the power of 10 obtained in step 2.
 Therefore, the number 0.00345 in standard notation is 2.03 × 10+3
