Writing Test
Choose one of these controversial topics: the driving or voting age, capital punishment,
or compulsory military service. Talk about whether you are for or against it. Write at least
five sentences.
I am against compulsory military service. It limits individual freedom,
forcing people into dangerous roles they may not want. Not everyone
is suited for the mental and physical demands of military life, and a
mandatory draft can put unfit individuals in challenging environments.
Compulsory service also disrupts young people's plans for education
or careers. A volunteer military tends to be more effective, with
individuals who are genuinely committed to serving.
