Factory Radio Removal


! IMPORTANT SAFETY WARNING:
Do not remove, puncture, or place objects
on air bag cover.

1. Before proceeding, eject disc(s) from


factory unit if present. Vent Trim
2. Disconnect negative battery cable to prevent
any electrical short. Note: Wait 15 minutes
before proceeding to the following steps to
allow airbag to reset and prevent activation.

3. Remove one (1) phillips screw from vent


trim. Pry trim from rear to release two (2)
metal clips and remove trim (Figure 1).

4. Remove two (2) 7mm/T15 screws exposed

by removal of vent trim (Figure 2).
5. Open glove box. Remove three (3) 7mm/T15
screws from lower edge of dash pad
(Figure 3). Dash Pad
6. Remove two (2) 7mm screws located in the
small cavity at the top left corner of the End Panel
glove box opening (Figure 4).
7. Remove both end panels from dash by
prying out edges and pulling toward rear
of vehicle (Figure 5).

8. Remove two (2) 7mm/T15 screws exposed by removal of end
panels (one screw located at each end). Note: Remove the
7mm/T15 screws only (Figure 6).
9. Pry up dash pad from the front edge to release four (4)
retaining clips and remove dash pad (Figure 7).

10. Remove three (3) 7mm/T15 screws from top edge of


instrument panel trim. Pull instrument panel trim away from
dash to release six (6) retaining clips. Disconnect wiring
harness to right of instrument cluster and remove trim
(Figure 8).
11. Remove three (3) 7mm/T15 screws securing factory radio to
dash. Pull out radio, disconnect and remove (Figure 9).

Antenna Replacement
It is only necessary to replace the antenna if
the existing antenna is damaged or
inoperable. FIGURE 1 FIGURE 3

1. Using a panel tool, remove one (1) press


clip and fold trunk liner panel back to Press Clip
access antenna (Figures 1 & 2).
2. Remove two (2) 7mm screws from antenna
support bracket (Figure 3).
3. Remove antenna mast and retaining nut
and pull antenna out through bottom of
fender. Disconnect and remove antenna.
4. Secure replacement antenna to fender as
shown and make necessary connections.
5. If installing a power antenna, make
connections according to instructions
supplied with antenna.
6. Test antenna operation and reinstall trunk FIGURE 2
liner.

• Inspect factory receiver harness connector in vehicle.

Receiver Installation Ensure that the wiring adaptor received from


Crutchfield plugs into the vehicle’s connector. If the
connector is missing or incorrect, please call our
Technical Support Department at 1-800-955-9094.

! IMPORTANT SAFETY WARNINGS:


Certain warning chimes in your vehicle may
be disabled by installation of an aftermarket
receiver. You must use the recommended
Crutchfield integration adaptor to retain the
warning chimes.

Failure to observe these warnings may result


in serious injury or death.

1. Secure receiver to mounting bracket


following instructions supplied with
installation kit.

2. Make wiring connections following
instructions supplied with the wiring
adaptor from Crutchfield.

3. Hold receiver assembly near dash.


Connect receiver wiring adaptor and
plug antenna lead into rear of receiver.

4. Slide assembly into dash opening and


secure with screws previously removed.

5. Test receiver operation and reassemble


dash by reversing disassembly steps.

Door Speakers cases the replacement speaker will be a direct fit. In


some cases an adaptor bracket or a fabricated bracket
will be required.

1. Remove one (1) phillips screw and pry off


"sail" panel (Figures 1 & 2). FIGURE 1 FIGURE 2

2. Remove two (2) phillips screws from door
pull cup (Figure 3).

3a. If equipped with manual windows:


Use a shop rag to release "C" clip and
remove window crank (Figure 4).

3b. If equipped with power options:


Pry out power options switch panel,
disconnect and remove.

4. Remove three (3) phillips screws from
bottom edge of door panel (Figure 5).

5. Remove one (1) phillips screw from rear edge
of door panel (Figure 6).

6. Pry out bottom edge of door panel to release


retaining clips. Squeeze top of panel while
pushing panel upward, disconnect wiring
harnesses and remove panel (Figure 7).

7. Remove four (4) 1/4" screws securing


speaker. Pull out speaker, disconnect and
remove (Figure 8).

8. Connect speaker wiring adaptor of


replacement speaker to vehicle speaker
harness. Secure speaker with screws
previously removed.

9. Test speaker operation and reinstall door FIGURE 7 FIGURE 8


panel by reversing removal steps.

! SAFETY CHECK
Check that wires do not interfere with window operation.
 Test door lock and release operation.

4. Pry off three (3) child seat anchor
trims (Figures 3 & 4).

5. Slide seat belts out of slots in rear deck panel (Figure 5).
6. Lift and pull one side of rear deck panel to remove (Figure 5).
Note: Rear window sealing materials sometimes stick to
carpet on panel and prevents it from sliding out easily.
7. Remove four (4) 7mm screws securing speaker. Pull out
speaker, disconnect and remove (Figure 6). Slot
8. Connect speaker wiring adaptor of replacement speaker to
vehicle speaker harness. Secure speaker with screws
previously removed.
9. Test speaker operation and reassemble rear of vehicle by
reversing disassembly steps.

! SAFETY CHECK
Make sure seats and seat belts are secured to
manufacturer’s specifications.
 Check brake light wiring connection and test operation.

1. Fold down rear seat back.

edge of rear deck panel (Figure 1).
3. Pry out three (3) child seat anchor trims and
remove (Figure 2).
4. Pry out rear pillar trimpanel from one side
only. Work from behind door pillar trim to
remove (Figure 3).
5. Remove rear quarter trimpanel from the
same side of vehicle by prying out one (1)
metal clip at top of panel (Figure 4). Retaining Clips Child Seat Anchor Trims

7. Lift and pull rear deck panel from the side that panels were
removed. Work the other end out from panels to remove
(Figure 6).
8. Remove four (4) 7mm screws securing speaker. Pull out
speaker, disconnect and remove (Figure 7).

9. Connect speaker wiring adaptor of replacement speaker to


vehicle speaker harness. Secure speaker with screws
previously removed.
10. Test speaker operation and reassemble rear of vehicle by
reversing disassembly steps.
