3. Draw diagrams wherever necessary.
4. Answer each section in the respective answers sheet only.
5. Answers written in the inappropriate sectional answer books will not be assessed in any case.

SECTION – B
Q.2 Answer the following: (3x4=12)
a. Which drugs are used as preanaesthetic medication? Explain its purpose individually.
b. Classify anti histaminic drugs. Write therapeutic uses and adverse effects of levocetrizine.
c. Define antitussive, expectorants and mucolytic agents giving suitable examples. Write
therapeutic uses of mucolytic agents.

Q. 3. Answer one out of two: (1x8=8 )


a. Write the mechanism of action, therapeutic uses and adverse effects of phenytoin. Write in brief
management of status epilepticus.
b. Classify cephalosporins. Write their mechanism of action. Write therapeutic uses and adverse
effects of third generation cephalosporins.

SECTION – C
Q.4 Answer the following: (3x4=12)
a. Mention different insulin preparations. Write adverse effects and indications of insulin.
b. Give examples of drugs which can cause drug induced parkinsonism. Write drug treatment of drug
induced Parkinsonism.
c. Compare and contrast oxytocin with ergometrine

Q. 5. Answer one out of two: (1x8=8 )


a. Classify glucocorticoids. Describe mechanism of action, adverse effects and therapeutic uses of
these drugs.
b. Classify antimalarial drugs as per the different stages of life cycle of parasite. Write therapeutic
uses, mechanism of action and adverse effects of chloroquine.
