Reason for ECN Replace three capacitors by smaller type in order to avoid collision with PCIe x1 card
(Note: This smaller ” longlife type has not been available before).

Update of System Monitoring Controller Firmware for enhanced reliability and functionality:

- New option: Timeout for ” FanFail can be configured via register
2)
- New option: Fan speed changes can be limited (configurable via register)
- avoid insane error messages due to sporadic monitoring communication conflict
(e.g. Fan error although fan is not installed)
Note: The System Monitoring Controller Firmware cannot be updated via SW!
Frontpanel Audio Jack Detection improved (avoids possible sporadical detection problem
with HDA frontpanel after S3 or S4).

Shipping details Shipment of GS3 mainboards expected from end of September 2007.

1) Existing SMCO configuration files can still be used.


2) Requires BIOS 1.03 or higher and SilentFanConfig-Tool “ V 1.1 in order to configure new monitoring options.
