INTERVIEW SCRIPT

(The researchers will be welcoming the participants by greeting them and give them
the background and the purpose of the study)

Researcher 1: Good day everyone, especially to our dear respondents of this study.
Before we will start our interview, we would like to introduce first ourselves, I am Kyla
Santos, and;
Researcher 2: I am Kristine Mae Silva.
Researcher 3: And I am Juan Miguel Surposa, and we are the pioneering students of
Bachelor of Secondary Education Major in English in University of Mindanao Digos
College.

Researcher 1: We, the researchers, are so happy because you will be part of our
study as our participants, and we are so honored to have you. Our study is entitled
“EXPLORING THE IMPACT OF AI WRITING TOOLS ON ENGLISH LANGUAGE
LEARNERS’ WRITING SKILLS”. As a researcher, the main purpose of our study is to
explore and examine what are the impacts of using AI writing tools to the English
language learners, what are the advantages and disadvantages of it, and how it
affects their writing skills in the long run.

Researcher 2: So before we set this interview, we already gave you the informed
consent and as your researcher, we promised to secure you and protect you from any
harm. We are strictly following the ethical consideration in our study so, we will
assure your anonymity and confidentiality. You are also given enough time to answer
the questions and will be treated equally with utmost respect. In addition, dear
participants, whenever you feel discomfort while answering our questions, you will
always be given an opportunity to withdraw your answer and your participation in the
study.

Researcher 1: So I believe that everything is on set now, so for the information of our
participants, the researchers will be asking 4 preliminary questions answerable by
‘always’, ‘sometimes’, and ‘never,’ then after that if you passed in our
pre-assessment, you will now then be qualified as our official participant. Don’t worry,
we will be giving you some treats after this, as a gratitude for your participation. So let
us start.

Researcher 2: Congratulations you answered all the preliminary questions and now
based on your answers you are now our official participants so we will proceed now
to the actual interviews. The data that we will be gathering from you will help the
researcher to distinguish whether the research question was answered. We prepared
8 validated questions for you and this will help us as the researcher to attain the
desired data. Now let’s go to our research question No. 1:
