The Phil-IRI Pre & Mid Results for SY 2024-2025 at Peñafrancia Elementary School show that out of 1,981 pupils in Grades 4-6, none were identified as Non-Readers, while 261 were Frustration Readers, 755 were Instructional Readers, and 965 were Independent Readers. The Midyear assessment indicated a decrease in Frustration Readers and an increase in both Instructional and Independent Readers, highlighting the effectiveness of intervention measures. Overall, there was a notable improvement in reading performance among the students, warranting the continuation of intervention activities.

Analysis/Interpretation:
As gleaned on the table, out of 1,981 Grades 4-6 pupils who were tested using the Phil-IRI Assessment in English (Pre-Reading
Assessment Tool), 0 were identified as Non-Reader, 261 (13.18%) belongs to Frustration Readers, 755 (38.11%), belongs to
Independent Readers and 965 (48.71%) were Independent Readers.
During the Midyear Phil-IRI Assessment in English, out of 1,981 Grades 4-6 pupils who took the test, same as pre-assessment 0
were identified as Non-Reader, 233 (11.76%) belongs to Frustration Readers, 774 (39.07%) belongs to Independent Readers, and
974 (49.17%) were Independent Readers.
The Frustration Readers decreased by 33 (1.42%) as a result of the intervention measures done by the teachers. Pupils under
Instructional Readers increased by 0.96% and Independent Readers increased by 0.46%.

It is good to note that there is a significant increase in the reading performance of the pupils conduct of intervention activities
must be sustained.
