DEFINITIONS
The simple sentence – One independent clause
The compound sentence - Two (or more) independent clauses joined by a
coordinating conjunction
The complex sentence – One independent clause + one or more dependent
clausesclauses
The complex-compound sentence – Two (or more) independent + one (or
more) dependent clauses
