about the present
continuous

Prof. Joaquin Pino Aravena

Present Continnuous
Present Continuous is used to describe actions that are occurring at the moment, temporary activities, near future plans, changes or processes in
development, and repetitive actions that may be annoying or conspicuous.

What do you think are the differences with the Present Simple?

She works in the School She is working in the School

The main difference is that the Present Simple expresses habitual or permanent situations and the verb is not
modified, and the Present Continuous focuses on ongoing or temporary situations and the verb is modified by
adding -ing at the end.
