Introduction
The K to 12 program in the Philippines wants to help students succeed after
they graduate. That’s why they have Work Immersion for Grade 12 students. It
lets them try out real jobs and see how what they learn in school applies to the
real world. Students get to learn about how businesses work, what’s expected in
a job, and what their future careers might be like.

Work Immersion helps students make better choices about what they want to
study and do for work. It’s a chance to use what they’ve learned, develop
important skills that employers want, and become well-rounded people who are
ready to help the community and the economy. They get to practice what they
know, work with professionals, and understand what different industries are
like.
Objectives Of The Work Immersion
This subject will provide the opportunities of the students;

1. Teach practical skills for chosen careers.

2. Help students understand workplace environments.
3. Apply classroom knowledge to real-world tasks.
4. Improve communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills.
5. Build professionalism and ethical behavior

Duration and Place of Work Immersion

I will be completing my Work Immersion at Caraga National High
School, which is located in Poblacion, Caraga, Davao Oriental, from
January 6 to January 17. The immersion will last for two weeks. During
this time, I will work on the Caraga National High School campus, where
I will gain a better understanding of its operations and workplace
dynamics. This experience will allow me to apply what I have learned in
class to real projects, engage with industry professionals, and gain
valuable insights into my chosen career path.
For our Work Immersion, we worked right here on the school
campus. Our main job was to keep the school clean and organized,
making it a better place for everyone to learn. We spent our time
sweeping up trash, picking up litter, and generally making sure the
school grounds looked nice. This included cleaning classrooms,
hallways, the gardens, and all the open spaces around the school. It
was important to us that we were helping to make a healthier and
more pleasant environment for all the students and teachers.
Mission
Our main goal while cleaning the school was to help create a

place that was clean, safe, and comfortable so everyone could

focus on teaching and learning. We wanted to teach ourselves

and others to be responsible, to work together as a team, and to

care about the environment around us.

Vision
We wanted the school to be a place where everyone felt proud to

keep it clean and green. We hoped to create a culture where

everyone in the school community understood that it’s our

shared responsibility to take care of our environment.

JOURNAL
January 6, 2025/ Monday
Today was the first day of our Work Immersion
at school. Our teacher, Ms. Jennycel Pili, told us
about our tasks and responsibilities. We were
divided into teams and assigned different areas
to clean. My team was in charge of the school
gardens and main entrance. I felt excited and
responsible knowing that our work would help
make the school a better place for everyone.

January 7, 2025/ Tuesday

We cleaned the school gardens today. We
removed weeds, picked up trash, and watered
the plants. It was hard work, especially in the
sun, but it felt good to see how clean the gardens
looked afterward. I learned that teamwork is
important for getting things done.

January 8, 2025/ Wednesday

Today, we cleaned the main entrance of the
school. This area gets a lot of traffic, so it needed
extra attention. We swept the paths, picked up
litter, and wiped down the benches. It’s
important to keep this area clean because it’s the
first thing people see when they come to the
school. I learned that paying attention to details
makes a big difference.
January 9, 2025/ Thursday
We cleaned the hallways today. This involved sweeping, mopping, and
wiping down surfaces. We made sure to clean areas that people touch a lot,
like door handles and light switches. It was nice to see the hallways looking
clean and welcoming after we finished. I learned that cleanliness helps keep
everyone healthy.

January 10, 2025/ Friday

Today, we organized the school’s room. These areas were messy and hard to
find things in. We sorted items, labeled shelves, and made a better system for
storing things. I learned that being organized helps things run smoothly.
January 13, 2025/ Monday
Today, we cleaned the back of our classroom. This area often gets cluttered
and dusty, so it needed some extra attention. We picked up any trash, dusted
the shelves, and made sure everything was tidy. It was nice to see the back
of the room looking clean and organized. I learned that even small areas can
make a big difference in how a room feels.

January 14, 2025/ Tuesday

We waxed the floor of our classroom today. This was a big job because the
floor gets a lot of wear and tear. We applied the wax carefully and made sure
to buff it until it shone. The floor looked brand new afterward, and it felt
good to know that our work would help keep it looking nice for a long time.
I learned that taking care of the floors helps maintain the overall appearance
of the room.

January 15, 2025/ Wednesday

Today, we cleaned the whole classroom. We swept and mopped the floor,
dusted the furniture, and wiped down all the surfaces. We even organized the
desks and chairs to make the room feel more spacious. It was satisfying to
see the classroom looking clean and welcoming after we finished. I learned
that a clean classroom helps students focus better and feel more comfortable.
January 16, 2025/ Thursday
Today, we deep cleaned the school’s restrooms. This meant
scrubbing toilets, cleaning sinks, and sanitizing surfaces.
We made sure everything was clean and safe for everyone.
I learned that keeping restrooms cleaned is important for
public health.

January 17, 2025/ Friday

On our last day, we checked all the areas we cleaned to
make sure they still looked good. We also picked up any
remaining trash around the school. It felt good to see how
much we accomplished over the past two weeks. We ended
the day with a meeting with Ms. Pili, where we shared our
experiences and thoughts about the program. I’m grateful
for this opportunity and what I learned.
Observation and Insights

During my Work Immersion program, I noticed several

important things about the training area and the program
itself. The training area was our school campus, where we got
to apply what we learned in class to real-life tasks. I saw how
important it was to keep the school clean and organized so that
it’s a good place for learning. The program helped us work
together as a team, which improved our communication and
collaboration skills. I realized that teamwork is crucial for
getting things done efficiently and making sure everything is
well-maintained.

As for how the work immersion was conducted, I thought it

was well-planned and gave us a great learning experience. The
program let us explore different parts of maintenance, from
cleaning to organizing. I liked how it encouraged us to take
responsibility for our work and think about how we were
doing. Overall, the program was effective in teaching us about
hard work, teamwork, and paying attention to details.
Overall Reflection and
Self-Appraisal
Looking back on my Work Immersion experience, I can see that it was

a really important time for me. I learned a lot of valuable skills that go

beyond what we learn in class. I understood the importance of working

together, being responsible, and paying attention to details. Each day

brought new challenges and opportunities to grow, whether it was cleaning

the gardens, waxing the classroom floor, or organizing storage rooms. These

tasks not only helped me develop practical skills but also made me proud of

my work.

The training program was well-designed and did a great job of

achieving its goals. It gave us a structured environment where we could

apply what we learned in class to real-life situations. The program let us

explore different areas of maintenance, which helped us see how all these

tasks fit together to keep everything clean and organized. One of the

strengths of the program was how it emphasized teamwork and

collaboration, which helped us build strong relationships with each other.

There were times when the tasks felt a bit repetitive, but overall, the program

was engaging and educational.

After finishing the training program, I think I’ve

changed in some really positive ways. I’m more

confident now in my ability to work on my own and as

part of a team. My communication skills have improved

because I learned how to work effectively with my peers

to get things done efficiently. I’ve also become more

responsible and accountable for my work. I understand

better why it's important to keep places clean and

organized, not just for how they look but also for health

and safety. Overall, this experience has prepared me

better for future challenges and responsibilities, both in

school and in my career.
