INTRODUCTION
Understanding the nature of God and His role as Creator is foundational to our faith. Our view of
God shapes our relationship with Him and our perspective on the world around us. Let's delve into
the attributes of God and how His creation reflects His character and purpose.
WEEK 5 LESSON
The Nature of God and Creation
I. The Character of God:A. Exploring God's Love and Mercy:
God's Unending Love:
Bible Verse: Psalm 136:26 (NIV) - "Give thanks to the God of heaven. His love endures
forever."
Explanation: Imagine a love that never stops, no matter what we do. God's love is like
that—it's always with us, helping us, and showing us the way.
God's Goodness and Kindness:
Bible Verse: Psalm 34:8 (NIV) - "Taste and see that the Lord is good."
Explanation: Just like your favorite ice cream tastes really good, God is super good too!
He's fair and always does what's right.
God's All-Knowing and All-Powerful Nature:
Bible Verse: Psalm 139:1-4 (NIV) - "You have searched me, Lord, and you know me."
Explanation: God knows everything about us, like a best friend who understands us
completely. He's also super strong and can do things that seem impossible!
Exhortation: God's love, goodness, knowledge, and power show us that we can always trust Him.
When things are tough, remember that God's love never ends, and He's always with you.
B. Emphasizing God's Unchanging Nature:
God's Constant Faithfulness:
Bible Verse: Malachi 3:6 (NIV) - "I the Lord do not change."
Explanation: Imagine if your friend changed every day—it would be confusing! God never
changes, so we can always rely on Him, no matter what's happening.
Exhortation: Just like a lighthouse stays steady during a storm, God's unchanging nature is like a
strong anchor for our lives. We can hold on to Him when things are uncertain.
II. The Creator God:A. God Made Everything:
Bible Story: Creation of the World (Genesis 1)
Explanation: The Bible tells us that God made everything we see around us—stars,
animals, plants, and even people! He just spoke, and things appeared, like a painter
creating a beautiful masterpiece.
Exhortation: When you look at nature, remember that it's all made by God's hands. Every leaf,
every bird, and every color are part of His incredible design.
B. Creation Shows God's Art:
Bible Verse: Psalm 19:1 (NIV) - "The heavens declare the glory of God."
Explanation: The sky, the mountains, and even the tiniest ants show us how amazing God is.
It's like He's whispering to us through His creation, saying, "Look how awesome I am!"
Exhortation: When you see a sunset or a beautiful flower, take a moment to say "Wow, God,
you're amazing!" It's like having a secret conversation with Him through the beauty around you.
III. Purpose in Creation:A. We Are Special to God:
Bible Verse: Genesis 1:27 (NIV) - "God created mankind in his own image."
Explanation: You know how special you are? God made you to be like Him! That means you
can love, be kind, and do good things, just like God does.
Exhortation: Remember, you're not just a regular person—you're made in God's image, and that
makes you super special. So, be kind and spread God's love wherever you go!
B. Nature Tells About God:
Bible Verse: Romans 1:20 (NIV) - "God's invisible qualities... have been clearly seen, being
understood from what has been made."
Explanation: When you see a huge mountain or a tiny ladybug, it's like God is giving you
clues about how amazing He is. He wants you to know Him better!
Exhortation: Next time you're outside, try to spot something beautiful and say, "Thank you, God,
for showing me a piece of who You are!"
IV. The Fallen Creation:A. Bad Things Happened:
Bible Story: Adam and Eve and the Bad Choice (Genesis 3)
Explanation: A long time ago, the first people, Adam and Eve, made a choice that wasn't
right. That's when bad things started to happen in the world.
Exhortation: Just like we sometimes make mistakes, Adam and Eve did too. But the good news is
that God still loved them, and He loves us even when we make mistakes.
B. God Will Make Things Right:
Bible Story: Noah and the Ark (Genesis 6-9)
Explanation: People didn't listen to God, but Noah did. God kept Noah, his family, and
animals safe on a big boat called an ark. It's like a story that reminds us God keeps His
promises!
Exhortation: When you see a rainbow after the rain, remember it's like God's colorful promise
that He will always take care of us and make things better.
CONCLUSION
Knowing who God is and how He made everything helps us see the world in a new way. His love,
creativity, and faithfulness are all around us, like a beautiful story waiting to be discovered. Even
when things feel hard, remember that God is always with you, His love never ends, and He's
always working to make things right.

PRAYER TIME
Dear God,
Thank you for showing us who You are and how You made everything so wonderfully. You are like
a loving artist who painted the sky, the animals, and even us! We are amazed by Your unending
love, goodness, and amazing power.
As we learn about You and the world You created, help us to see Your fingerprints everywhere.
When we look at the stars, the mountains, and the flowers, may we remember that they all tell us
about Your greatness.
When things feel confusing or tough, remind us that You never change. Just like a lighthouse
guides ships safely, You guide us through all the ups and downs of life. You are always with us,
and Your love never ends.
Thank you for making us special and unique. Help us to show kindness, love, and goodness, just
like You do. And when we make mistakes, like Adam and Eve did, remind us that Your love still
covers us, and Your promises never fail.
We're excited to explore the world You made and to learn more about You through stories and
experiences. Please help us spread Your love and kindness to others, just like how You care for
us.
Thank you, God, for being our Creator, our Friend, and our Guide. In Jesus' name, we pray.
Amen.
