Title: The Doom of Amon Sûl
Introduction: Atop the windswept ruins of Weathertop (Amon Sûl), a shadow has fallen
once more. Strange lights flicker at night, and travelers speak of a ghostly presence that
haunts the ancient watchtower. The Free Peoples fear that a remnant of the Witch-king’s
sorcery lingers there, threatening to awaken an ancient evil.
Rumors tell of a lost relic—Elendil’s Aegis, an enchanted shield once wielded by the
kings of Arnor, said to repel the darkness itself. The Rangers of the North seek to recover
it before it falls into the hands of the Enemy, but their scouts have gone missing. Now, a
group of brave adventurers must uncover the truth behind the haunting of Amon Sûl and
ensure that its power does not fall into the wrong hands.
Adventure Hook: The adventurers are summoned by Halbarad, a trusted ranger and
ally of King Elessar. He believes that an ancient curse lingers at Weathertop and that
dark forces seek to reclaim what was left behind when the Witch-king last stood there.
The adventurers must brave the haunted ruins and confront whatever lies in wait
beneath the old stones.
Act 1: The Road to Weathertop The journey to Amon Sûl is fraught with peril, as fell
creatures stalk the night. Along the way, the adventurers encounter:
• A dying ranger, clutching a tattered map leading to a hidden vault beneath
Weathertop.
• A cursed barrow, where whispers promise power in exchange for a dreadful
price.
• A band of orcs, led by a cruel chieftain who claims to serve a “returning master.”
Act 2: The Ruins of Amon Sûl The once-proud tower of Weathertop is now a shattered
ruin, but its foundations hide forgotten secrets. The adventurers must navigate:
• The Crumbling Stair, where each step threatens to collapse into darkness.
• The Vault of Kings, sealed since the fall of Arnor, where an ancient guardian
stands watch.
• The Shadow’s Mark, an eerie sigil burned into the stone, pulsing with malice.
Act 3: The Return of the Wraith At the heart of the ruins, the adventurers discover the
truth: a spectral remnant of the Witch-king lingers here, bound by his own malice. He
seeks to reclaim Elendil’s Aegis and twist its light into shadow. The final confrontation
includes:
• The Wraith of Amon Sûl, a spectral terror that grows stronger in darkness.
• An arcane storm, as the magic of the old tower awakens in violent force.
• A choice: shatter the shield to banish the wraith forever, or risk wielding its power
against the coming darkness.
Conclusion: If the adventurers succeed, the Rangers of the North will remember their
bravery, but the whispers of the wraith may linger in their minds. Amon Sûl remains a
place of legend—and warning.

• The favor of the Rangers of the North and King Elessar.
