The 3 Most Effective lightsaber forms
Have you ever thought about the top 3 most effective lightsaber forms? 3 forms of lightsaber
combat each with their own set of ability's and they are all very effective in different ways. There are 7
forms of lightsaber combat but Soreso the iron wall, Vaapad Brings balance to the force, and Shien’s
complex footwork are the most effective forms. Now Soreso is my favorite out of All the lightsaber
forms and here's why.
Soreso has three main components: Defense, Endurance, and Strategy. First let's Dive into
Defense. Soreso is the third form of Lightsaber combat, it focuses on blaster deflecting and tiring your
opponent out to a point where He/her is to fatigued to go on, that is when He/Her would make the
killing blow. The second component is Endurance, if you use Soreso you will have to endure the fight
without getting too tired,It does seem hard but, if you use the momentum of the orbits or spins you
don’t have to waste energy stopping and starting your blocks and strikes. The last component of the
Soreso lightsaber Fighting style is that it has strategy. The strategy is that they keep their blade in
motion and gain inertia. Another reason Soreso is effective is the spins confuse you opponent and the
will most likely not know where to launch an attack. Obi-wan-Kenobi cut of all four of Greivis arms all
welding lightsabers. Even Jedi master Mace Windu stated that "Soreso is the ultimate defense."
Next up we have Vaapad, Vaapad focuses on three principals. The first is that it is overpowering,
the strikes are fast and are very strong. This will intimidate your opponent and the will also have to keep
up with the rapid strikes. Just like Soresu you tire out your opponent but instead of blocking the attack
you be launching them. Secondly Vaapad brings balance to the force because, the user uses the dark
side while staying in the light this mean the user is more powerful and in tune with the force. Vaapad is
not based to be strategic, although it does bring a nice set of skills to the table. A notable user of Vaapad
is Mace Windu he was the one to invent it as well. In fact, Master Windu beat Palpatine only to Have
Anakin slice of his hand and allowing the Emperor to blast him out the window with full force sith
lightning.
Finally, there is Shien, Shein like all other focuses on three main principals. It has unique
footwork so if you need more leverage in a blade lock. Or if you need to cover a large amount of
distance while dueling, you can change your footwork to help you out with those situations. Next there
is its swiftness, it is fluid and combines it's amazing footwork with its lightning fast strikes and blocks.
Then in the end our final principal is that like all others is that being strategic. It is so fluid with the
footwork and strikes, just like Soreso it confuses your opponent. Usually when I duel I switch from
soreso and shien so I have a good defense and great offence. Another reason why shien is effective is
that Anakin Skywalker used this form and he was one of the best duelistis in the Jedi council. He only
lost to Obi-Wan because his ego got the best of him.
There are 7 forms of lightsaber combat, but Soreso, Shein, and Vaapad are the most effective.
Soreso, Vaapad, Shein, are the most effective forms because they are all strategic and have their
strengths and weaknesses. But the thing they all have in is that you must fully commit to the form.
