 Introduction

The project, Hotel Management System is a desktop-based application

that allows the hotel manager to handle all hotel activities online.
Interactive GUI and the ability to manage various rooms, employees,
drivers and customers make this system very flexible and convenient.
The hotel manager is a very busy person and does not have the time to
sit and manage the entire activities manually on paper. This application
gives him the power and flexibility to manage the entire system from a
single online system. Hotel management project provides room
booking, staff management and other necessary hotel management
features. The system allows the manager to post available rooms in the
system.
Problem Statement
The current hotel management system lacks integration, resulting in
inefficiencies and data inaccuracies. The system is not able to
communicate seamlessly with other software, causing delays and
errors in managing hotel operations. This leads to a negative impact
on guest experience, staff productivity, and revenue. Additionally, the
current system is not flexible enough to adapt to changes in hotel
operations or industry trends, leading to difficulty in implementing
new procedures and technologies.
 Existing System

Existing System and Need of System:

1. Reservations and bookings: Hotel management systems

allow for the easy management of reservations and bookings.
It provides a platform for customers to book rooms online and
view the availability of rooms in real-time.
2. Room assignment: With hotel management systems, it is
easy to assign rooms to guests and keep track of which rooms
are occupied and which are available.
3. Billing and payment: Hotel management systems help to
automate billing and payment processes, reducing errors and
improving efficiency. It can generate invoices, track payments,
and generate financial reports.
4. Guest management: Hotel management systems allow for the
easy management of guest profiles and preferences. This helps
hotels to provide personalized services to their guests and
improve their overall experience.
5. Staff management: Hotel management systems help to
manage staff schedules, assign tasks, and monitor
performance. This improves efficiency and productivity, and
ensures that the hotel is running smoothly.
 Proposed System

Objectives of Proposed System:

Integration: To integrate the hotel management system with other software,

ensuring seamless

communication between systems, reducing delays, and eliminating errors.

Functionality: To provide a comprehensive set of features and functionality

to meet the needs of the hotel, including room management, inventory
control, guest services, and billing.
Affordability: To provide an affordable solution for small and medium-sized
hotels, with a low implementation cost and maintenance fee.
User Interface: To provide a user-friendly interface for hotel staff, reducing
errors, and increasing productivity.
 Objective of System

A hotel management system is an essential tool for hotels to

efficiently manage their day-today operations, from reservations to
check-ins and checkouts, as well as managing guest profiles and
preferences, room availability, and billing.
The system can also provide valuable insights into guest behaviour
and preferences, helping hotels tailor their services and marketing
efforts to meet the needs of their customers.
In conclusion, a well-designed hotel management system can
streamline operations, enhance guest experiences, and improve
overall efficiency and profitability for hotels.
 Scope of the System

Room Management: The system will provide tools for managing

room inventory, availability, rates, and reservations.

Guest Services: The system will facilitate guest check-in and check-
out, room service requests, and other guest services.

Billing and Payment: The system will generate invoices and

facilitate payment processing, including credit card and mobile
payments.

Flexibility: The system will provide flexibility to customize features

and functionality based on the specific needs of the hotel.

Cloud-Based System: Implementing a cloud-based system could
