ACTIVITY TITLE: Essay #3

REALIZATION, INSIGHT AND LEARNINGS

As a student, how do you show your duties and responsibilities as a Filipino

citizen?
Student’s Answer:
As a Filipino citizen, it is my duty and responsibility to follow the laws instituted by
the constitution. First of all, it is my duty to be well informed from the most basic to the
most complicated one. For example, there is one time that I noticed that some youth
stopped and stand properly whenever playing the national anthem, however, I’m
confused because they don’t even put their bags/backpacks down, I can’t interrupt but I
always show to the others the proper way whenever have time. It saddens me that the
first and most basic things that were taught to us when we are in kindergarten were
already forgotten.
Showing our duties and responsibilities as Filipino citizens does not include bragging.
We should do it because it is what we should do as the nation expected us to be. Simply
avoiding the prohibited acts and paying proper tribute to the historical landmarks and
national events/things is much appreciated. Paying taxes and adhering to the policies is a
must. As long as we are doing the common good while minding our limits as fellow
people in the community, we are free to do what we want. It's even better if our actions
are dedicated to our people and the country. But that's just the beginning, the country is
expecting us, the youth to take initiative and contribute to the general welfare through
the use of our skills. Make good use of it to serve our countrymen and its environment as
we reshape the future of today's generation while also preserving what is needed,
tangible or not tangible things.
We are already granted numerous freedoms in our Bill of Rights. The country is
counting on us to do our part by following these simple duties and responsibilities. We
should set a great example for the next generations so that our values and cultures, and
our identity as Filipino citizens will not fade in time but instead became more renowned
far and wide as we take pride in our flag that symbolizes our colorful history and rich
culture.
