SUSTAINABILITY TECH
TITLE: SMART CIRCULAR CITIES: TACKLING MUMBAI’S WASTE CRISIS, FLOODS, AND
ENERGY POVERTY THROUGH TECH-DRIVEN SUSTAINABILITY

BACKGROUND:
Mumbai generates over 7,500 metric tons of waste daily, with 40% unprocessed, clogging
drains and worsening monsoon floods that displace 1,000+ families annually. Simultaneously,
30% of slum households lack reliable electricity, relying on polluting diesel generators, while
coastal erosion destroys critical mangrove ecosystems that act as natural flood barriers.
These interconnected issues—waste mismanagement, energy poverty, and climate
vulnerability—demand a unified, tech-driven approach to build resilience in India’s financial
capital.
FINTECH
TITLE: Integrated Urban Health Resilience: Combating Pollution, Disease Outbreaks,
and Mental Health Stigma in Overcrowded Mumbai

BACKGROUND:
NGOs struggle with securing and managing funds transparently, facing issues such as misuse, lack of
accountability, and challenges in tracking donations. Traditional payment systems are fragmented,
opaque, and prone to fraud, making it difficult to provide donors with clear proof of fund usage. This lack
of transparency undermines donor trust and reduces the effectiveness of social initiatives. Without a
unified solution, NGOs cannot easily demonstrate proper fund allocation or track the flow of money,
hindering their ability to build confidence and accountability in the global non-profit sector.
HEALTH TECH
TITLE: Integrated Urban Health Resilience: Combating Pollution, Disease Outbreaks,
and Mental Health Stigma in Overcrowded Mumbai

BACKGROUND:
Mumbai’s population density, seasonal monsoon diseases (dengue, malaria), toxic air quality
(AQI > 300), and mental health neglect in slums create a health crisis. Vulnerable groups
(elderly, children, low-income residents) face compounded risks during floods and
heatwaves.
