QUESTION 2

2.1 Earths revolution: It is the movement of the earth around the sun. (2)

2.2 Angle 23,5 degrees (1)

2.3. Why does the earth experience different seasons?

The tilt of the earth and revolution of the earth around the sun cause different
amounts of light to fall in different portions of the earth in different angles. (2)

2.4 Equinox: is when Southern hemisphere and Northern hemisphere experience

equal day and equal night . (1)

Solstice: Are the longest and shortest days of the year. (1)

2.5 Does the earth rotational axis move?

No. (1)
2.6 How do the winter and summer seasons in the Northern Hemisphere compare?
Answers may vary. The North Pole tilts towards the sun in the summer and
away from the sun in winter. The North Pole does not tilt towards or away
from the sun in the autumn or spring. (6)

21
2.7 What direction does the earth revolve?
The earth revolves counter-clockwise if looked at from a perspective above
the North Pole. (2)

2.8 How long does it take the earth to revolve around the sun one time?

365.25 days. (1)

2.9 . Name different seasons of the year

Winter, spring, summer, autumn. (4)

2.9 In summer the length of daylight is longer than the length of daylight in winter.
This is caused by the earth’s axis which is tilted. Sometimes the earth is tilting
towards the sun, and at times away from the sun. (3)
2.10 It is because of the amount of direct sunlight heating certain hermisphere (2)
