Microsoft Office Skills Self-Assessment & Development for

Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook
Learning and mastering your Microsoft Office skills can lead to better job opportunities. Demonstrating
these skills will be important to your career planning. But first, I would need to assess your current skill
levels.

For each Microsoft Office skill, review each category and the associated tasks. If you find there are
categories of tasks you need to learn or improve, check “Add to Learning Plan.” If there are only specific
tasks that you need, you may want to circle those tasks. When you have achieved a level of proficiency, and
feel that you can demonstrate the skill, check the “Can apply skill” box.

You should be able to demonstrate most of the identified functional tasks within each category before you
advance to the next level in the Administrative Office Specialist, Legal Administrative Specialist and/or
Medical Administrative Specialist programs (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, or Outlook).
