Lesson 25 Questions
First Day: Read Lesson 24 Notes.
The notes and lecture fortify the truth of the passage for understanding and application to
daily life.
1. What thoughts about God’s justice and mercy did the lecture give or emphasize to you?
2. How did the notes help you trust God in practical ways?
b. What will happen after the one thousand years have ended?
Satan must be set free for a short time.
4. What do these verses say about God’s sovereignty and authority over the enemy?
(See also Job 1–2.)
In the previous verses God has the power to imprison Satan as well as to release him.
Job 1-2
Prologue
1 In the land of Uz there lived a man whose name was Job. This man was blameless
and upright; he feared God and shunned evil. 2 He had seven sons and three
daughters, 3 and he owned seven thousand sheep, three thousand camels, five
hundred yoke of oxen and five hundred donkeys, and had a large number of
servants. He was the greatest man among all the people of the East.
4 His sons used to hold feasts in their homes on their birthdays, and they would
invite their three sisters to eat and drink with them. 5 When a period of feasting
had run its course, Job would make arrangements for them to be purified. Early in
the morning he would sacrifice a burnt offering for each of them, thinking,
“Perhaps my children have sinned and cursed God in their hearts.” This was Job’s
regular custom.
6 One day the angels[a] came to present themselves before the Lord, and Satan[b]
also came with them. 7 The Lord said to Satan, “Where have you come from?”
Satan answered the Lord, “From roaming throughout the earth, going back and
forth on it.”
8 Then the Lord said to Satan, “Have you considered my servant Job? There is no
one on earth like him; he is blameless and upright, a man who fears God and shuns
evil.”
9 “Does Job fear God for nothing?” Satan replied. 10 “Have you not put a hedge
around him and his household and everything he has? You have blessed the work
of his hands, so that his flocks and herds are spread throughout the land. 11 But
now stretch out your hand and strike everything he has, and he will surely curse
you to your face.”
12 The Lord said to Satan, “Very well, then, everything he has is in your power, but
on the man himself do not lay a finger.”
13 One day when Job’s sons and daughters were feasting and drinking wine at the
oldest brother’s house, 14 a messenger came to Job and said, “The oxen were
plowing and the donkeys were grazing nearby, 15 and the Sabeans attacked and
made off with them. They put the servants to the sword, and I am the only one who
has escaped to tell you!”
16 While he was still speaking, another messenger came and said, “The fire of God
fell from the heavens and burned up the sheep and the servants, and I am the only
one who has escaped to tell you!”
17 While he was still speaking, another messenger came and said, “The Chaldeans
formed three raiding parties and swept down on your camels and made off with
them. They put the servants to the sword, and I am the only one who has escaped
to tell you!”
18 While he was still speaking, yet another messenger came and said, “Your sons
and daughters were feasting and drinking wine at the oldest brother’s house, 19
when suddenly a mighty wind swept in from the desert and struck the four corners
Lesson 25
of the house. It collapsed on them and they are dead, and I am the only one who
has escaped to tell you!”
20 At this, Job got up and tore his robe and shaved his head. Then he fell to the
ground in worship 21 and said:
22 In all this, Job did not sin by charging God with wrongdoing.
2 On another day the angels[d] came to present themselves before the Lord, and
Satan also came with them to present himself before him. 2 And the Lord said to
Satan, “Where have you come from?”
Satan answered the Lord, “From roaming throughout the earth, going back and
forth on it.”
3 Then the Lord said to Satan, “Have you considered my servant Job? There is no
one on earth like him; he is blameless and upright, a man who fears God and shuns
evil. And he still maintains his integrity, though you incited me against him to ruin
him without any reason.”
4 “Skin for skin!” Satan replied. “A man will give all he has for his own life. 5 But
now stretch out your hand and strike his flesh and bones, and he will surely curse
you to your face.”
6 The Lord said to Satan, “Very well, then, he is in your hands; but you must spare
his life.”
7 So Satan went out from the presence of the Lord and afflicted Job with painful
sores from the soles of his feet to the crown of his head. 8 Then Job took a piece of
broken pottery and scraped himself with it as he sat among the ashes.
9 His wife said to him, “Are you still maintaining your integrity? Curse God and
die!”
10 He replied, “You are talking like a foolish[e] woman. Shall we accept good from
God, and not trouble?”
11 When Job’s three friends, Eliphaz the Temanite, Bildad the Shuhite and Zophar
the Naamathite, heard about all the troubles that had come upon him, they set out
from their homes and met together by agreement to go and sympathize with him
and comfort him. 12 When they saw him from a distance, they could hardly
recognize him; they began to weep aloud, and they tore their robes and sprinkled
dust on their heads. 13 Then they sat on the ground with him for seven days and
seven nights. No one said a word to him, because they saw how great his suffering
was.
5. a. What does the Bible say about Satan’s activity in the world? (See also John 8:42-45; 2
Corinthians

Fellowship
4:4; and 1 Peter 5:8.)
John 8:42-45 (Satan is the liar and murderer)
42 Jesus said to them, “If God were your Father, you would love me, for I have
come here from God. I have not come on my own; God sent me. 43 Why is my
language not clear to you? Because you are unable to hear what I say. 44 You
belong to your father, the devil, and you want to carry out your father’s desires.
He was a murderer from the beginning, not holding to the truth, for there is no
truth in him. When he lies, he speaks his native language, for he is a liar and
the father of lies. 45 Yet because I tell the truth, you do not believe me!
2 Corinthians 4:4 (Satan has blinded the minds of unbelievers so that they
would not accept Jesus as their savior)
4 The god of this age has blinded the minds of unbelievers, so that they cannot
see the light of the gospel that displays the glory of Christ, who is the image of
God.
b. How does the certainty of Satan’s defeat impact your confidence in the Lord’s power
as you serve
Him in a world that opposes Him?
It encourages me to avoid sin.
7. Read John 5:28-29 and 1 Corinthians 15:20-23, 50-58. What is the “first resurrection”
(Revelation 20:5), and who shares in it?
The "first resurrection") refers to the resurrection of believers in Christ, who are blessed
with the salvation of Jesus. They are purified by blood of Jesus and become holy, and will
reign with Christ for a thousand years, while the "rest of the dead" (unbelievers) are
resurrected only after a thousand years.
John 5:28-29
28 “Do not be amazed at this, for a time is coming when all who are in their graves
will hear his voice 29 and come out—those who have done what is good will rise to
live, and those who have done what is evil will rise to be condemned.
Lesson 25
1 Corinthians 15:20-23
20 But Christ has indeed been raised from the dead, the firstfruits of those who
have fallen asleep. 21 For since death came through a man, the resurrection of the
dead comes also through a man. 22 For as in Adam all die, so in Christ all will be
made alive. 23 But each in turn: Christ, the firstfruits; then, when he comes, those
who belong to him.
1 Corinthians 15:50-58
50 I declare to you, brothers and sisters, that flesh and blood cannot inherit the
kingdom of God, nor does the perishable inherit the imperishable. 51 Listen, I tell
you a mystery: We will not all sleep, but we will all be changed— 52 in a flash, in
the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet. For the trumpet will sound, the dead
will be raised imperishable, and we will be changed. 53 For the perishable must
clothe itself with the imperishable, and the mortal with immortality. 54 When the
perishable has been clothed with the imperishable, and the mortal with
immortality, then the saying that is written will come true: “Death has been
swallowed up in victory.”[a]
56 The sting of death is sin, and the power of sin is the law. 57 But thanks be to
God! He gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.
58 Therefore, my dear brothers and sisters, stand firm. Let nothing move you.
Always give yourselves fully to the work of the Lord, because you know that your
labor in the Lord is not in vain.
c. What does this promise mean to you as you look to your eternal life?
It encourages me to avoid sin and faithful to God under any hardship or even life-
threatening circumstances.
d. How does this promise give you hope for today or in a current hard circumstance?
My suffering won’t be in vain and it encourages me to long for heavenly
rewards rather than earthly treasures.

the breadth of the earth and surrounded the camp of God’s people, the city he loves. But
fire came down from heaven and devoured them. 10 And the devil, who deceived them,
was thrown into the lake of burning sulfur, where the beast and the false prophet had been
thrown. They will be tormented day and night for ever and ever.
9. a. What will Satan do after he is released from the prison of the Abyss?
Satan will go out to deceive the nations (Gog and Magog) and gather them for a
final battle, a mighty army as numerous as the sand of the sea, before being
ultimately defeated and cast into the lake of fire.
b. What does this tell us about Satan’s nature? What does this tell you about human
nature?
Satan is rebellious and deceptive. Humans are easy to be tricked and believe in
the lie of Satan rather than God’s words.
11.a. How is what transpires (revealed) after Satan’s release astonishing? How does this
affect your
perspective on your life and the lives of others? (See also Mark 7:20-23; Romans 5:12-
14; James
1:13-15; and 1 John 2:16.)
The lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life came from the world and they could
enter into people’s hearts which will create desire. People are tempted by their own desire, and
desire conceive sin, and sin give birth to death. I would avoid sinful environment.
James 1:13-15 (people are tempted by their own desire, desire conceive sin , sin give birth to
death)
13 When tempted, no one should say, “God is tempting me.” For God cannot be tempted by
evil, nor does he tempt anyone; 14 but each person is tempted when they are dragged away
by their own evil desire and enticed. 15 Then, after desire has conceived, it gives birth to sin;
and sin, when it is full-grown, gives birth to death.
1 John 2:16 (the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life came from the
world)
16 For everything in the world—the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life
—comes not from the Father but from the world.
Lesson 25
b. In what ways do people seem to run from God or resist contentment in Christ?
If they try to find enjoyment in the earthly things, they seem to run from God or
resist contentment in Christ.
12.a. What does this week’s passage teach you about Satan?
Satan is jealous of the close relationship between believers and God and he is
always looking for ways to destroy God’s people. Satan is deceptive and lie to
people to accomplish his will. We need to be careful not to fall into Satan’s trap
by avoiding sin.
c. What does it say about your place in eternity, and how does the assurance of victory
help you not
be complacent (self-admiring)?
I want to be part of thousand years rein of Jesus. So, I need to make sure that I

am living according to his will and be faithful to him until the end.
13.Consider how Satan is bound during the millennium. What will life be like in a world ruled
by Jesus Christ?
The world will experience peaceful, happy lives where they have very close
relationship with God without Satan’s deception and influence.
