B. (DEVELOPMENT)
The teacher will group the learners into five (5).
Group Activity: Different Patterns of Motion
c. Presenting Rules: (For indicators 4 and 5)
example/instances - Cooperate with your group.
of the new lesson - Discuss with your group.
EXPLORE - Use polite words when speaking/asking.
- Avoid unnecessary movements.
Group 1: Let’s Do It
Each member of the group will perform the following:
1. Walk in a straight line. (7 steps)
2. Run forward.

Questions:
1. What do you observe in the activity?
2. Is there any differences between the movement of the two
activities? Explain?
3. What do you think is the motion being presented by your group?

Group 2: Let’s Play Bubuka ang Bulaklak

The group will perform the Bubuka ang Bulaklak game.

Questions:
1. What do you observe in the activity?
2. Are there any differences between the movements in the activities?
Explain?
3. What do you think is the motion being presented by your group?

Group 3: Let’s Ride on the Bus

The group will perform riding on a bus and will drive through the zigzag
road.

Questions:
1. What do you observe in the activity?
2. Is there any differences between the movements in the activities?
Explain?
3. What do you think is the motion being presented by your group?

Group 4: Let’s Exercise

The group will perform an exercise standing and sitting.

Questions:
1. What do you observe in the activity?
2. Is there any differences between the movements in the activities?
Explain?
3. What do you think is the motion being presented by your group?
Group 5: Let’s Move Forward and Backward
The group will walk forward and will go back to where they started. (8
steps)

Questions:
1. What do you observe in the activity?
2. Is there any differences between the movements in the activities?

new concepts
EXPLAIN The teacher together with the learners discusses the lesson.

There are so many ways in which things move.

In the park, the swing moves forward and backward. The carousel goes
around a circle. The slide goes down straight.
The following are the different patterns of motion.
1. Linear motion- the movement of an object in a straight path. For
example, a kid running forward in a straight line is doing a linear
motion.

Straight Path

2. Circular motion- a movement of an object in a circle or rotation

path. For example, a moving Ferris wheel is moving in a circular path,
which means the movement is in a circle. Another example is the motion
of the earth.
(For indicator 1)

Circular path

3. Zigzag motion- a motion in which the path is making sharp angles.

For example, a bus traveling on a zigzag road.

4. Up and down motion- is a motion showing upward and downward or

alternate movement.

For example, sitting and playing in a seesaw. It is moving in an up and

down path.
Another example is an elevator going up and down.
5. Back and forth motion - a motion repeatedly moving in one
direction and
then in an opposite direction.

For example, an old woman sitting on a rocking chair. The back-and-

forth motion of the rocking chair creates a back-and-forth path.

D. ENGAGEMENT
Answer the following questions:
e. Continuation
of the discussion of 1. What are the different patterns of motion?
new concepts 2. What is linear motion? Circular? Zigzag? Up and down? Back and forth
motion?
3. Are those motions important? Why?
