Alright, good! Let us recall and sing the Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday,
Seven Days of the Week. Follow me Friday, and Saturday.
(Sing the Days of the Week) Seven days are in a week…

2. Motivation

Raise your hand if you were born in January, (Learners will raise their hands as I mention the
February, March, April, May… following months)

Can you name all twelve months of the year,


starting from January? (Some learners will nod their heads as a sign of
“Yes”)
Okay, sing with me the “Twelve Months of the
Year “
(Play the video) (Sing along with the video)

B. Development of the Lesson

1. Activity

Show a large calendar to the class ask:

“What is a calendar used for?” It is used to tell us the date.

Hold up flashcards with the days of the week.

Ask learners to arrange the cards in the


correct order on the whiteboard.

Repeat the process for the months of the


year.

2. Task Analysis

Focus on how the calendar is organized.


Show learners how each month is divided
into weeks and days.

Point to specific dates and ask questions like:

"What is the name of this month?" January

"What day of the week is this date?" Monday

“What comes after Monday?” Tuesday

“What month comes after January?” February

Guided Practice:

Give a date on the board.

Asked some learners to identify the day of


the week for several given dates (e.g., April The learner will orally answer the questions (e.g.,
1st, April 5th). Tuesday, Saturday)
3. Abstraction

Let us recall the Twelve Months of the Year, Learners will sing:

Post a question on the board:

Ask the learners to post their answers on the


board using the available flashcards.

C. Assessment

Directions: Ask three of your classmates


about their birthdays. Write what month, date,
and day their birthday will be this year. Use
the calendar to answer the activity.
