ABSTRACT

Voice-controlled wheelchairs offer a significant advancement in improving the

mobility and independence of individuals with physical disabilities. This
technology integrates voice recognition systems with the mechanical controls
of a wheelchair, enabling users to operate the device hands-free using simple
vocal commands. The voice control interface eliminates the need for manual
handling, providing an intuitive and accessible mode of navigation. Key
components of such systems typically include a microphone for sound input, a
speech recognition module for interpreting commands, and an actuator system
that translates recognized speech into movement instructions for the
wheelchair. This innovation aims to enhance user autonomy, reduce physical
strain, and support greater freedom of movement in various environments. The
paper explores the design, implementation, and challenges of voice-controlled
wheelchair systems, including accuracy of voice recognition, system
responsiveness, safety concerns, and potential applications in everyday life.
The development of such technologies marks a significant step toward
improving the quality of life for individuals with mobility impairments.
