Research Project Preparation Guidelines for MBA/MBA-IBM/BBA/B.Com (H) Programme

IMPORTANT POINTS:

1. Students are required to prepare Research Project Report with the help of allocated faculty
guides.

2. Students have to decide a topic on which they have to prepare a Research Project Report. The
Topic has to be approved by their respective Faculty Guide.

3. The Research Project Report must have an appropriate Title.

4. Report has to be systematically written as per standard guidelines (Font – Times New Roman,
Font Size (Heading) – 14 (Bold, Capital Letters), (Sub-heading [Bold] – 12 & content – 12)
and Line Spacing – 1.5 in a Justified Format)

5. No two or more research reports could be identical. Each student should write a separate report
and clearly mention his / her individual contribution.

6. Prepare 2 Hard-Bound copies of the Research Project Report.

First page of report. Try to find a title that clearly describes the work you have done and be

• Executive Summary
The executive summary should, in the briefest terms possible, describe the topic, the scope,
the principal findings, and the conclusions. The summary should not occupy more than one
page (about 150 to 200 words).
• Acknowledgement
The Acknowledgement page is an essential part of a dissertation/ Research Project report,
where the author expresses gratitude to those who contributed to the research, provided
support, or guided them throughout the dissertation process

Chapter 1 – INTRODUCTION

• Chapters. The number of chapters you need and their contents strongly depend on the topic
selected and the subject matter to be presented. Roughly the following chapters may be included.
However, the structure of the report may be according to the flow of overall logic and
organization.

• Introduction:
In this chapter you formulate the problem that you want to address, the initial goals you had, etc.
without going into details. Here you also describe the structure of the rest of your report,
indicating which chapter will address which issue.

• Literature Review:
The discussion on the literature may be organized under a separate chapter & titled suitably.
Summarize the literature that you have read. This will help you in developing your own thinking
discipline and technical language.

• Research Methodology:
This section will have the following components-
a. Research Objectives
b. Research Methodology (Including Type of Research design e.g. Exploratory, Descriptive,
Experimental, etc., Sampling Technique & amp; Sample Size)
c. Analysis and Interpretation of Data iv Limitations of the Study

• Data Analysis and Interpretation


In this section, relevant data, observations, and findings are summarized. Tabulation of data,
equations, charts, and figures can be used effectively to present results clearly and concisely.
Schemes to show reaction sequences may be used here or elsewhere in the report.

 Findings, Suggestions & Conclusion of the Study


The Findings section presents key results, linking them to research objectives. Findings should be
concise, data-driven, and systematically organized. The crux of the report is the analysis and
interpretation of results. Ensure providing proper recommendations. What do the results mean?
How do they relate to the objectives of the project? To what extent have they resolved the
problem?

 Future Scope of the research study


The Future Scope suggests unexplored areas, methodological improvements, broader datasets, and
practical applications. A well-structured section enhances clarity and demonstrates the study’s
impact. You may point out the issues recommended for future research.

 Reference
In reference section, cite all the documents, research paper, article. It should be in APA Style (7 th
Edition) in alphabetical order. All references should be checked against the original literature.
