Chapter 2: HTML & CSS Basics

### 2.1 Introduction to HTML


HTML (HyperText Markup Language) is the standard language used to create web pages. It
provides the basic structure of a webpage using elements (tags).

### 2.2 Basic HTML Structure


Every HTML document follows this structure:

<!DOCTYPE html>
<html>
<head>
<title>My First Web Page</title>
</head>
<body>
<h1>Welcome to Web Development</h1>
<p>This is a paragraph.</p>

</html>
```

### 2.3 Common HTML Elements


- `<h1>` to `<h6>`: Headings
- `<p>`: Paragraph
- `<a href="URL">`: Hyperlink
- `<img src="image.jpg" alt="Image">`: Image
- `<ul>`, `<li>`: Unordered List
- `<ol>`, `<li>`: Ordered List
- `<table>`: Tables
- `<form>`: Forms (input, button, etc.)

### 2.4 Introduction to CSS


CSS (Cascading Style Sheets) is used to style HTML pages by changing colors, layouts, fonts, etc.

### 2.5 Types of CSS


1. **Inline CSS** (inside an HTML tag)

2. **Internal CSS** (inside `<style>` tag in `<head>`)

```
3. **External CSS** (in a separate file, linked with `<link>`)

### 2.6 Basic CSS Properties


- **Text Styling:** `color`, `font-size`, `text-align`
- **Box Model:** `margin`, `padding`, `border`, `width`, `height`
- **Layout:** `display`, `position`, `flexbox`, `grid`
