Delhi State Chess Championship-2025
1. All the age group events, Delhi State Women and Amateur will be played as unrated event with a
time control of 30 Minutes + 30 second increment. The number of rounds will be 7 or as decided by
the Chief Arbiter before start of the event according to number of participants.
2. Delhi State Open FIDE Rated, which will be 9 round championship with a time control of 60 Minutes
+ 30 Second increment. The total prize fund will be Rs. 2,00,000/-.
3. Delhi State Open Rapid and Blitz events will be unrated events with 7 rounds. The time control will
be 15 Minutes + 5 second increment and 3 Minutes + 2 second increment respectively.
Rules & Regulations for Delhi State Selection Events :-
Cut Off dates for age groups is 1st January 2025 i.e. born on or after
1. Age Proof : Each participant must produce a valid certificate to prove his/her age. Certificate from
Schools are not valid. Certificate should be from Panchayat, Municipality or Corporation. Players
without date of birth certificates will not be allowed to participate. The date of birth certificates
registered within one year of the birth of the child alone will be recognized and allowed to
participate.
2. Players who hold foreign citizenship and players working with affiliated unit of AICF are not
eligible to participate in Delhi State selection events.
3. The events will be conducted as per latest FIDE Laws under Swiss System.
4. In case of tie, latest FIDE Rules will be applied to break the tie.
5. Smoking, cell phones and all types of watches are strictly prohibited inside tournament hall.
6. Eligibility for Amateur Event : The participants shall not have a FIDE title or published FIDE rating
above 2300 at the start of the tournament nor had such a rating for at least one year prior to the
start of the event.
7. The interpretation on any point not covered under these rules, shall be referred to the Appeal
Committee headed by Tournament Director and its decision will be binding on all the participants.
Protests, if any, shall be made within 15 minutes of the occurrence of the incident along with a fee
of Rs. 1000/- which will be refunded in case the appeal is upheld. No protest will be entertained after
stipulated time frame.
8. Any misconduct or indecent behavior may result expulsion from tournament. Parents are not
allowed inside tournament hall.
9. Entry Fee
a. For Age Group Events : Rs. 700/- (For Girls Rs. 500/-)
There will be 50% concession in entry fee for school students of Delhi Government, NDMC & Delhi
Municipal Corporation.
10. All players must be registered with Delhi Chess Association for the year 2025-26 for participating
in the event by paying Annual Registration Fee of Rs. 200/- to Delhi Chess Association. All DCA
registration will be accepted through Circlechess platform only and entries through other modes will
not be accepted.
11. All entries will be accepted through CircleChess platform only and entries through other modes
will not be accepted. All registration links are listed in the last page of brochure .
12. Entries will be accepted only until 2 days before the event; thereafter organizing committee have
the discretion to accept the entries with late fee of Rs. 200/- or to reject the entries until one day
prior to the scheduled event. Please note that no entries will be accepted on the day of championship. So
please submit your entry well in advance to avoid last day rush and late fees.
13. Downloadable E-participation Certificates will be awarded to all participants. Trophies to top three
finishers in each category. The prize fund for Open FIDE Rated will be Rs. 2,00,000/-.
14. For Delhi State School Team Chess Championship, a school may send any number of Teams in the
following categories U9, U11, U15 and U 19. Only Delhi Schools are allowed to participate in this
event. Any team may have girls participants as well.
15. Aicf registration is mandatory for 2025-20 to participate in Delhi State Open Rating Chess Tournament
