In recent years, biotech food which is sourced from genetically modified
plants or animals has been becoming a tendency in many countries around the
world. Some people believe that biotech food brings a great number of benefits to
human life, but others disagree with that idea and think that biotech food has some
disadvantages. So, I will present my view about the advantages and the
disadvantages of biotech food in this essay.
One of the advantages of biotech food that we can mention is the quality of
products which are sourced from genetically modified plants and animals are
improved significantly. Particularly, these foods will provide a large amount of
necessary nutrients for human health like vitamins A, B, D, E and some other
nutrients.
Another benefit is biotech food provides many methods which advance
human health. In fact, some foods which are sourced from biotech technology can
be used for patients, even cardiovascular patients. Besides, some scientists also
propose advisements that biotech food can improve the body as well as the mental
and physical health of people.
However, biotech food has also some disadvantages. First, when using
genetically modified foods which have no specific source, users will face many
health risks and have some serious diseases like cancer or diabetes. In addition,
some technology which be used to produce biotech food can cause environmental
pollution. Moreover, pollution which is related to genetically modified technology
is often difficult to handle, they can affect negatively the natural environment as
well as human health and wildlife survival.
In conclusion, biotech food brings many new methods to resolve issues of
modern society. With the above-mentioned facts, this essay presented the
advantages of biotech food such as enhancing the quality of food and providing
new nutritious methods for human health as well as some disadvantages of biotech
food like the serious effects of some genetically modified technology on the
environment, humans, and wildlife. However, I hope that with the development of
modern technology in the future, the disadvantages of biotech food will be
minimized.

healthier fats that can help reduce cardiovascular disease risks. Additionally, rice
varieties have been developed to contain more vitamin A, which helps to improve
eyesight. It is especially beneficial to children in poor areas, where cannot afford
fruits and vegetables. With these improvements, biotech food can fight
malnutrition and improve public health in many countries.
Nevertheless, biotech food also has its drawbacks. A major concern is
the potential health. Despite many studies showing safety, some people
disagree. For example, some people fear eating biotech food which can lead
to impacts long-term unknown, such as the risk of allergy or resistance to
antibiotics. So this is a new relative technology. It makes some people
hesitate to buy or eat this food.
Another disadvantage is that can affect negatively biodiversity. If
biotech plants spread out of control, They can harm the environment due to
natural plants are reduced. Besides, insects or weeds can become resistant to
biotech plants, which means the farmer needs to use stronger chemicals to
kill them in the future.
In conclusion, the benefits of biotech food outweigh its drawbacks; however, their
downsides cannot be overlooked. So, let’s choose suitable and safe products for health.
