2. You should answer all 5 questions.
3. Clearly write your index number (do not write your name or student ID) on the
examination booklet, supplementary answer sheets and the question paper.
4. Write your answers in the examination answer booklet provided and all answers to a
new question should start on a new page.
5. Clearly write the question number on the left side margin of the answer sheet.
6. Candidates are not allowed to bring any material other than those allowed by the
invigilator into the examination hall.
7. Students are not permitted to use red ink / correction pens while writing answers.
8. This is a closed book examination.
9. Please check you have entered all the necessary information on your answer booklet

a) A survey of 85 students asked them about the subjects they liked to study. Thirty-five
students liked math, 37 liked history, and 26 liked physics. Twenty liked math and
history, 14 liked math and physics, and 3 liked history and physics. Two students liked all
three subjects

i) Draw a Venn diagram for the given information. [5 marks]

ii) How many students like math only? [2 marks]

iii) How many of these students like math or physics? [2marks]

iv) How many of these students didn’t like any of the three subjects? [2 marks]

v) How many of these students like math and history but not physics? [3 marks]

a) Find the range of the following functions.
