IELTS SPEAKING QUÝ 1 2025 (part 2) (place- person- event - item/object)

1. Describe a place with a lot of trees (Yen So park)

Describe a long walk you had

Model answer

Where + when:

I’d like to talk about a long walk I had in the countryside last year. It happened during a weekend trip with some of my
friends. We decided to visit a small village surrounded by hills and fields because we wanted to escape the busy city
and enjoy some fresh air.

On the second day of our trip, we planned a long walk through the countryside. We started early in the morning to enjoy
the cool weather. The path we took was surrounded by green fields, tall trees, and small streams: suối. It was so
peaceful because there were no cars or noise, just the sound of birds chirping and the rustling: xào xạc of leaves.

How long + what you did: The walk lasted for about 3 hours. At first, it didn’t feel tiring because we were chatting,
laughing, and taking photos of the beautiful scenery. Along the way, we saw farmers working in their fields.

About halfway through the walk, we reached a small hilltop with an amazing view of the surrounding area. We sat there
for a while, had some snacks, and just enjoyed the moment. It was so relaxing and refreshing.

Although the walk was long and a bit tiring, it was one of the most memorable experiences I’ve had. It made me
appreciate nature more and reminded me how important it is to take breaks and slow down sometimes. Even now,
when I think about that walk, it makes me feel calm and happy.

Outline

When: a weekend trip

Where: long walk in the countryside - small village

Who: my friends - escape the busy city

What happened: + started early in the morning

 path: surrounded by tall trees, green fields…..-> peaceful (birds)

 3 hours

 Not so tired (chat, laughed /t/ , take photos, talk with farmers)

 halfway: small picnic at a hilltop + amazing views

Kết bài: memorable experience -> appreciate the nature + enjoy breaks

Part 3:

1. What outdoor activities do people like?

 Well, I think people in my country enjoy different outdoor activities.

-For Young generations: energetic + dynamic: sports: football + basketball

-Older generations: gentle + calming activities: walk, do yoga + taichi -> make friends with other elderly people + enjoy
fresh air + minimize the risks of injury
2. What are the differences between the outdoor activities children did in the past and now?
the most obvious difference I can see is the availability of facilities for outdoor activities

 20 years ago: children could only participate in simple outdoor activities like running around or flying kites on
the fields

 But now, there are more facilities for children to pursue outdoor activities: football fields, skateboard ramp: sân
trượt ván, basketball court -> larger range of outdoor sports.

3. Is leisure time important to everyone? Why?

 It is crucial for everyone

 hectic schedule -> suffer from stress at work or at school -> having leisure/free time (maybe at the weekends):
crucial for people to recharge their energy or relieve the stress

 Leisure/free time: pursue personal hobbies: sports/doing art and craft -> life is more meaningful

4. Do women have more leisure time than men?

 Well, I think it doesn’t depend on gender but more on each individual

 Now, everyone (doesn’t matter men or women) tends to devote all of their time (even free time) to work to
earn more money

 Even if someone stays at home, it doesn’t mean they have more free time

 For example, there are many household chores like cleaning the house, washing dishes, clothes or taking care of
the babies.

2. Describe something you did to learn a language

Model answer

One thing I did to learn a language was joining a speaking club. It was for English, and we met once a week in a small
group.

During the sessions, we had different activities like group discussions: thảo luận nhóm, role-plays: đóng vai, and debates:
tranh luận on various topics. For example, one week, we pretended to be in a job interview, which helped me learn
formal expressions: cách diễn đạt trang trọng, and another week, we had casual conversations: hội thoại hằng ngày
about hobbies or daily life.

How: At first, I was very nervous to speak because I didn’t have much confidence, but the environment was friendly, and
people encouraged me to try, even if I made mistakes.

Apart from that: ngoài ra, I also practiced listening by watching movies and TV shows in English with subtitles: phụ đề.
This was really helpful because it allowed me to hear how native speakers use words and phrases naturally. I tried to
focus on pronunciation: phát âm and intonation: ngữ điệu, and sometimes I would pause the video to repeat what the
characters said. It felt a bit awkward: kỳ lạ at first, but it really improved my accent: ngữ điệu over time.

Overall, combining these methods made a big difference in my language skills. I still make mistakes sometimes, but I’ve
learned to become more confident with my speaking and improve my listening skills gradually (dần dần)

Part 3

1. What difficulties do people face when learning a language?

 Biggest challenge for any language learners is patience and determination/discipline

 they have to spend hours every day to learn new vocabularies, rules of grammar and practice speaking and
listening

 many people give up halfway because they cannot spend enough time every day

2. Do you think language learning is important? Why?

 crucial especially for young generations

 tool to expand people’s knowledge about new cultures, countries and people

 For example, learning Chinese is an easy way to get access to movies, music and traditions of this country

 give people opportunity to work in a multinational organization/company where they can work with people
from different countries

 gain an advantage over those who don’t have a second language when competing for a position in a company.

3.Describe an unusual: bất thường building you find interesting.

I want to talk about the Bitexco Tower in Ho Chi Minh City. It’s one of the tallest and most iconic: biểu tương buildings in
Vietnam, and it really caught my attention when I visited the city.

The tower is really tall with 68 floors, and its design is inspired by the lotus flower: hoa sen, which is the national flower
of Vietnam. I think this makes the building special because it combines: kết hợp modern architecture /arkitechture/
with a cultural symbol.

The entire tower is made of glass, which makes it shine during the day and gives it a modern look. At night, the lights on
the building make it stand out even more, especially when viewed from across the Saigon River.

Inside the tower, there are a lot of things to do. It has offices, high-end shops, restaurants, and even a cinema. One of
the highlights is the Saigon Skydeck on the 49th floor, where visitors can enjoy a 360-degree view of the city. I went
there during sunset, and the view was absolutely stunning: đẹp. I could see the busy streets, the river, and even the far-
off areas of the city.

It’s a symbol of modernity, yet it still keeps a connection to Vietnamese culture through its lotus-inspired design. It’s not
just a building but also a piece of art: tác phẩm nghệ thuật that makes the city unique.

4. Describe a sport person you admire

Who: A sports person I admire is Lionel Messi. He’s a professional footballer from Argentina and is considered one of
the best players in the world.

When: If I’m not mistaken, I first started following him when I watched the FIFA World Cup a few years ago, and I was
amazed by his skills on the field. His control of the ball, quick movements: di chuyển nhanh, and ability to score goals:
ghi bàn in difficult situations make him stand out: nổi bật.

Why: One reason I admire Messi is his dedication: tận tâm, chăm chỉ. Even though he’s naturally talented, he has
worked very hard to reach the top level in football. He faced challenges early in his life, like his health issues when he
was young, but he didn’t give up: từ bỏ and kept pursuing (theo đuổi) his dream. I think this is really inspiring: truyền
cảm hứng because it shows how determination: sự quyết tâm and hard work can help you achieve success.

Another thing I admire about him is his humble attitude: thái độ khiêm tốn. Despite being so famous and winning many
awards, he always seems down-to-earth: thân thiện and focused on his game. He’s also a great team player and always
supports his teammates on the field.
What I like most about Messi is that he has used his fame to do good things, like helping children through his charity
work. For example, he runs a foundation: điều hành quỹ that supports education and healthcare for kids in need. This
makes me respect him even more, not just as a footballer but also as a person.

In short, Lionel Messi is someone I look up to because of his talent, hard work, and the positive impact he has on and off
the field. If I have a chance, I want to meet him in person one day.

pack a bag, and I thought we were just going to visit a nearby place for the day. But later, I found out they had planned a
three-day trip to a beautiful beach resort!

what happened: When we arrived at the resort, I was so surprised because it was a place I had always wanted to visit
but never had the chance. The beach was stunning: đẹp, with white sand and crystal-clear water: nước trong như pha
lê. The resort had a lot of fun activities like snorkeling, kayaking, and even a small boat ride, which I enjoyed a lot.

What made me happiest was how thoughtful: chu đáo my family was in planning everything. They even booked a room
with a sea view and organized a little party for me at the beach in the evening. There was a cake, music, and we all
danced together under the stars. It was such a special and memorable moment.

6. Describe a time you made a promise with someone

Who: I want to talk about a time when I made a promise to my younger sister to take her on a trip.

When: This happened about a year ago when she was feeling stressed because of her school exams. She told me how
much she wanted to take a break and visit a place she had never been before. So, I promised her that as soon as her
exams were over: kết thúc, I would plan a trip for both of us.

Where: After her exams finished, I kept my promise, and we went to a hill station that she always wanted to visit. I took
care of all the arrangements: sắp xếp , like booking the tickets, finding a nice hotel, and planning activities we could do
there. She was so excited, and it made me happy to see her smile after such a stressful time.

During the trip, we visited some beautiful spots: địa điểm tuyệt vời like waterfalls, nature trails: đường đi, and a local
market where we bought some souvenirs. We even tried some traditional food, which she absolutely loved. One of the
best moments was when we took a cable car: cáp treo ride and got an amazing view of the mountains. It was a little
scary for her at first, but she ended up enjoying it a lot.

Kết bài: This experience taught me the value of keeping promises. It strengthened the bond: tăng cường tình cảm
between me and my sister, and I could see how much it meant to her. Even now, she often talks about that trip and how
it helped her relax and have fun.

Part 3

1. Why do some people fail to keep their promises

Some people fail to keep their promises because they make them impulsively without considering whether they can
fulfill them. Others might face unexpected obstacles, like time constraints or changes in priorities, that prevent them
from following through. In some cases, people might not see the promise as important, so they don’t take it seriously.

4. Do parents in your country often make promises to their children

Yes, parents in Vietnam often make promises to motivate their children. For example, they might promise rewards, like

good behavior or hard work, but some parents may struggle to keep them, which can affect trust.
7. Describe a time you prepared for a happy event (có thể biến hoá từ đề số 07 hoặc học theo bài mẫu sau đây)

I want to talk about a time when I prepared for a happy event, which was a trip to celebrate my younger sister’s success
in her school exams. She had worked really hard and got excellent results, so I decided to organize a trip to make her
feel special and reward her efforts.

I started planning a couple of weeks in advance. First, I asked her casually where she would like to go, and she
mentioned she wanted to visit a famous hill station. I kept it a surprise and began making arrangements. I booked the
train tickets, reserved a nice hotel with a view of the mountains, and planned a few activities that I thought she would
enjoy, like hiking, visiting waterfalls, and trying local food.

On the day of the trip, I packed her favorite snacks and even bought her a small gift—a pair of sunglasses she had
wanted for a while. When I finally told her about the plan, she was so excited and couldn’t stop smiling. During the trip,
we had a great time exploring the beautiful scenery, clicking photos, and spending quality time together.

One moment that stood out was when we visited a lake and went on a boat ride. My sister was so happy and kept
thanking me for making the effort to plan everything. Seeing her so cheerful made me feel proud and satisfied because I
knew I had done something meaningful for her.

Preparing for this trip was a bit of work, but it was all worth it. It not only made my sister happy but also gave us
memories we’ll cherish forever.

8. Describe a person you want to see performing live

One person I really want to see performing live is Sơn Tùng MTP, a famous Vietnamese singer and songwriter. He’s very
popular not only in Vietnam but also in other countries in Asia because of his unique style and catchy music.

His songs often mix traditional Vietnamese sounds with modern pop and hip-hop, which I find very interesting and
exciting.

I have been his huge fan for many years but I still haven’t got a chance to join his concerts because the tickets are
always sold out in just several minutes.

The reason I want to see him live is because his performances are always full of energy and creativity. He’s known for
his amazing stage presence: khả năng làm chủ sân khấu tốt and how he interacts with the audience. For example,
when I watch videos of his concerts, I can see how the crowd sings along with him, especially to songs like Chạy Ngay Đi
or Hãy Trao Cho Anh. It feels like such a lively: sống động and emotional atmosphere.

Also, I admire his fashion sense. His outfits are always stylish and sometimes even bold: phá cách, which makes him

had a discount: giảm giá, so I thought it was a great deal: 1 món hời.

When the package arrived, I was really excited to try them on. However, as soon as I wore them, I realized that they
didn’t fit well: ko vừa. Even though I had ordered my usual size, the sneakers were too tight: quá chật, especially
around the toes: ngón cái. I tried walking around the house with them, hoping they would feel better, but they
remained uncomfortable.

Another issue was the quality. In the pictures, they looked high-quality, but in real life, the material felt cheap and not
very durable: bền . I was disappointed because I had expected better. Since I knew I wouldn’t be able to wear them
comfortably, I decided to return them.

Luckily, the website had a return policy: chính sách trả hàng, so I contacted customer service: dịch vụ chăm sóc KH and
followed the instructions to send the shoes back. After a few days, I received a refund: hoàn tiền. Although it was a bit

15.Describe a line that you remember from a song or a poem

Well, this is a tough question because I’m not really into any particular song. However, today, I’m going to tell you about
one line/sentence that I remember, it is:

"You raise me up, so I can stand on mountains."

This line is from the song You Raise Me Up, which is a popular inspirational song by famous boyband Westlife.

When: I first heard this song several years ago, and it immediately caught my attention because of its powerful lyrics: lời

1. What can people learn from songs or poems

Oh, definitely a lot! Songs and poems can teach you about emotions, life lessons, and even history. They often use
metaphors or storytelling, which can make you see things from a different perspective. Plus, some songs or poems are
great for helping you understand certain cultures or personal experiences, so they can really broaden your
understanding of the world.

2. Do you think it is easier for children to learn a song or poem than adults? Why

I think it’s definitely easier for kids. When you're younger, your brain is more flexible and absorbs information quickly,
plus songs or poems are fun and catchy, so it sticks. Kids are also less self-conscious, so they’ll just sing or recite: ngâm
thơ without overthinking it. Adults, on the other hand, might struggle with the memorization part or just feel like it’s a
hassle to learn, especially if they’re not in the habit of doing it.

3. Do you think children would like the rhythm of songs or poems? Why?

Yeah, for sure! Kids usually love rhythm. It’s fun and keeps them engaged. The repetition in songs and poems makes it
easy for them to remember, and it also helps with language development. Kids tend to get into the groove of it and
often end up repeating lines, which is kind of like a game for them.

4. Are you good at memorizing things?

Hmm, it depends. If it’s something I’m really interested in or if it has a rhythm, like a song, then yeah, I’m pretty good at
it. But if it’s something boring or super technical, I’d struggle a bit more. I guess it’s easier for me to memorize stuff
that’s catchy or has a pattern to it.

16. Describe a place in the countryside you once visited

Last summer, I visited a peaceful village in the countryside, about 150 kilometers away from the city.

Where: The village is located in the northern part of Vietnam, surrounded by lush green fields and rolling hills (cánh

Who: I went there with my family for a weekend getaway to escape the hustle and bustle of city life.

What: We stayed at a small farmhouse where the locals grew organic vegetables and raised free-range chickens. Every
morning, I would wake up to the sound of birds chirping and enjoy the fresh air.

I spent most of my time exploring the nearby fields and rivers, taking in the serenity (sự thanh bình) of the landscape.
One day, we went hiking in the hills and found a beautiful spot to have a picnic. The weather was perfect, and we
enjoyed the peaceful surroundings.

What I liked most about this place was the tranquility and the chance to be close to nature. It was a great way to unwind
and recharge. However, I also realized that I couldn’t live there for too long, as I missed the conveniences of city life,
such as modern facilities and entertainment options.

One job that I believe is extremely useful to society is teaching. Teachers play a vital role in shaping the future by
educating students and helping them develop knowledge, skills, and values.
I first learned about this job, of course, through my own experience as a student. Throughout my school years, I had
many dedicated teachers who not only taught academic subjects but also motivated us to work hard and become better
individuals. They left a lasting impact on me, which is why I admire this profession so much.

Teaching is a job that attracts people who are patient, compassionate, and passionate about education. Most teachers
undergo years of training and education to gain the necessary skills to handle a classroom and deliver lessons effectively.
It’s not just about teaching lessons; it’s about inspiring and guiding students through their learning journey.

This job is incredibly useful to society because it builds the foundation for future generations. Teachers educate children,
who will grow up to become doctors, engineers, and leaders. Without teachers, there would be no professionals in any
field. They are essential in fostering growth and progress in any community.

Part 3

1. What kind of jobs are well-paid in your country

In Vietnam, jobs in technology, finance, and healthcare are often well-paid. For example, software developers,
engineers, and doctors typically earn higher salaries because their skills are in high demand and require advanced
education or training.

2. What kind of jobs receive a low income

Jobs in manual labor or customer service, such as factory workers, cleaners, or cashiers, tend to receive lower pay. These
jobs are essential but often don’t require specialized skills, which is why they are not as well-compensated.

3. What kind of jobs deserve a high salary

Jobs that require extensive training, high responsibility, or that make significant contributions to society deserve high
salaries. For example, doctors, teachers, and scientists should be well-paid because their work impacts the health,
education, and progress of the community.

4. Do you think doctors should be well-paid

Yes, I believe doctors should be well-paid because they invest many years in education and training, and their work
carries immense responsibility. They save lives and improve the quality of life for others, which makes them invaluable
to society. A good salary also motivates them to stay in the profession and continue providing excellent care.

21. Describe a time when the vehicle you took broke down on your trip

You should say:

When it happened
Who you were with at that time
And what impacts this breakdown had

Model answer:

I’d like to talk about a trip to Da Lat when the motorbike we rented suddenly broke down. It
happened two years ago during a weekend getaway with my best friend.

We had rented the motorbike to explore Da Lat’s scenic spots, like waterfalls and flower gardens. Everything was going
smoothly until the bike suddenly stopped working while we were on a small countryside road, far from the main city.
We tried restarting it several times, but it just wouldn’t start.
At first, we felt frustrated and a bit panicked because we didn’t see any repair shops nearby. Luckily, a kind local
passerby noticed us struggling and stopped to help. He checked the motorbike and told us the engine had overheated.
He helped us push the bike to a nearby repair shop, where the mechanic fixed it in about an hour.

The breakdown delayed our plans and cost us some extra money for the repairs, but it also turned into a memorable
experience. We got to interact with the locals, who were incredibly friendly and helpful, and we laughed about how
unprepared we were. Despite the inconvenience, it became a funny story to share later.

Part 3
1. What do you think needs to be improved in public transport
In Vietnam, public transport needs to improve reliability and cleanliness. For example, buses often don’t run on time,
which makes it inconvenient. Adding more routes, especially in rural areas, and upgrading old vehicles would encourage
more people to use public transport.

2. Who likes to travel more, older people or younger people

I think younger people travel more because they’re energetic and curious about new experiences. They often travel for
education, work, or fun. Older people tend to travel less because of health issues or a preference for staying close to
home, but some still enjoy trips with their families.

3. Are there fewer people using private cars because of improved public transport

In cities like Hanoi or Ho Chi Minh, where buses and metro systems are being developed, fewer people may rely on
private cars. However, in many areas where public transport is unreliable, people still prefer motorbikes or cars for
convenience.

4. What are the advantages and disadvantages of private transport

Private transport, like cars or motorbikes, is very convenient and flexible for getting around in Vietnam. However, it’s
expensive to maintain and adds to traffic jams and pollution, especially in big cities like Hanoi or Da Nang.

22.Describe your favorite type of food you ate at special event (bánh chưng)

Model answer

One of my favorite foods that I enjoy during special events is "bánh chưng," a traditional Vietnamese dish eaten during
the Lunar New Year, also known as Tet.

What:Bánh chung is a type of sticky rice cake that is wrapped /t/ in banana leaves and steamed./d/

When: I usually have it at home with my family during Tet, which is a time for family gatherings and celebrations. The
preparation of bánh chưng is quite significant in our culture, and it's something that brings everyone together.

How: To make bánh chưng, you start with sticky rice, mung beans: đậu xanh, and pork belly. The process begins by
soaking: ngâm the rice and mung beans overnight. The mung beans are then cooked and smashed: nghiền, while the
pork belly is marinated: tẩm ướp with spices: gia vị. You layer the rice, mung beans, and pork belly into the leaves. The
wrapped /t/ cakes are then boiled for several hours until they become firm: cứng.

Why: I love bánh chưng for several reasons. Firstly, it has a rich, savory: mặn taste with a slightly sweet flavor from
the mung beans, which makes it very comforting. The texture is a perfect blend: kết hơp of soft and sticky, and the
banana leaves give it a wonderful aroma: mùi hương tuyệt vời.
Most importantly, bánh chung represents the unity and warmth of family gatherings during Tet. For me, It's a dish that
not only satisfies my taste buds: thoả mãn khẩu vị but also holds sentimental value: có giá trị tinh thần, reminding me
of the festive spirit and the importance of family traditions.

Part 3:

1. Do Vietnamese people grow plants?

Yes, many Vietnamese people do grow plants. In rural areas, it's quite common for families to have small gardens where
they grow vegetables, herbs, and fruit trees. Even in urban areas, people often grow plants on balconies or in small
garden plots. Growing plants is a part of daily life for many, as it provides fresh ingredients for cooking and can be a
way to relax and connect with nature. Personally, I know several friends and family members who take pride in their
home gardens and enjoy the process of growing their own produce.

2. Which food is generally popular in your country?

In Vietnam, a variety of foods are popular, but some of the most well-loved dishes include pho, which is a type of
noodle soup with beef or chicken, and banh mi, a Vietnamese sandwich with various fillings (nhân). Spring rolls and com
tam, or broken rice, are also widely enjoyed. These dishes reflect our rich culinary tradition: phản ánh truyền thống ẩm
thực giàu có , combining fresh ingredients with distinctive flavors. Personally, I think pho is especially popular because
it's not only delicious but also has a comforting and traditional feel that resonates with many Vietnamese people.

3. Are there any difficulties when people grow plants in cities?

Yes, there are definitely some challenges. One of the main difficulties is space. In cities, people often have limited room
for gardening, which can make it hard to grow a variety of plants. Another issue is pollution; air and soil quality can
affect plant health.

Additionally, urban areas can have less access to natural light, which is crucial for plant growth. Personally, I've seen
some city gardeners use creative solutions like vertical gardens or indoor plant systems to overcome these challenges.
Despite the difficulties, many people find ways to make urban gardening work.

4. Will there be more and more people planting food in the future?

I believe so. As more people become aware of the benefits of growing their own food and the importance of
sustainable practices, I think interest in urban and home gardening will continue to grow.

With advances in technology and gardening techniques, even those with limited space or resources can start growing
their own food.

Additionally, concerns about food safety and the environmental impact of large-scale agriculture may drive more people
to take up gardening. Personally, I think it's a positive trend that could lead to healthier lifestyles and more sustainable
living practices.

Meals

1. Why do people nowadays spend less time eating together?

It’s mainly due to people's hectic schedule.

the development of technology

2. Is it a positive or negative trend?

Negative: when people are too occupied with their work, they tend to ignore their family. The lack of face-to-face
interactions/communication often leads to arguments or conflicts at home. (the lack of ……….is the breeding grounds
for arguments or conflicts) -> Solutions: set priorities for family time -> achieve work-life balance.
Processed/fast food

1. Is fast food popular in your country?

2. What are the disadvantages of eating fast food?

Takeaway food/order

23. Describe an ambition you haven’t achieved

One of my biggest ambitions is to lose weight and adopt a healthier lifestyle. I have been trying to achieve this goal for
quite some time, but I haven’t been as successful as I hoped.

There are several reasons why I want to lose weight. First, I believe it will improve my overall health and energy levels.
Sometimes, I feel tired or sluggish, and I know that being in better shape could help me feel more active. Second, I want
to feel more confident in my appearance. While I accept myself as I am, I also believe that reaching a healthier weight
will boost my self-esteem.

Although I have made some progress, I have struggled to stay consistent. I have tried different diets and exercise
routines, but I often lose motivation or get too busy with work and other responsibilities. Sometimes, I see results, but
then I go back to old habits, which makes it difficult to achieve my long-term goal.

In the future, I plan to make small, sustainable changes to my lifestyle rather than following strict diets. I aim to exercise
regularly, eat balanced meals, and focus on building better habits. I know that losing weight takes time and effort, so I
will try to stay patient and disciplined.

Overall, even though I haven’t achieved this ambition yet, I am still determined to reach my goal. With more consistency
and commitment, I believe I will eventually succeed.

24. Describe something you do that can help you concentrate on your work or study

Well, One thing that really helped me concentrate on work or study was listening to instrumental music.

I discovered that music without lyrics created a calm and focused environment, which made it much easier to avoid
distractions and stay on task for a long time.

I still remember vividly that when I was preparing for my university exam 3 years ago, I often listened to classical music,
soft piano melodies, or even lo-fi beats while studying. The gentle background sound helped me stay relaxed and
focused, especially when I had to go through a lot of reading materials or solve complex problems.

Unlike songs with lyrics, instrumental music didn’t interfere with my thoughts or make me feel distracted. Instead, it
helped me concentrate and process information more effectively.

This technique was especially useful when I had to study in noisy places, like a crowded library or a café. By putting on
my headphones and playing slow, rhythmic music, I could block out background noise and create a personal study space
wherever I was. It also kept me from getting bored or feeling stressed, making long study sessions feel more enjoyable
and productive.

In short, listening to instrumental music significantly improved my concentration. It helped me stay in the right mindset
for studying and made it easier to retain information. Now, whenever I need to focus, I always use this technique to stay
productive
25. Describe a person that you enjoy spending time with

Model answer

One person I really enjoy spending time with is my best friend,........ She is a kind, cheerful, and supportive person who
always brings positive energy wherever she goes.

I met …… in high school, and we quickly became close friends because we had a lot in common: nhiều điểm chung.
Over the years, our friendship has grown stronger, and now she is one of the most important people in my life.

Whenever we spend time together, we do a variety of activities. We love hanging out at cafés, watching movies, or
going for walks in the park. Sometimes, we try new activities like cooking together or exploring different restaurants.
We also enjoy traveling to new places whenever we have the chance. Even when we are just sitting and chatting, I
never feel bored because she has so many interesting stories to share.

The main reason I enjoy spending time with ……is that she is a great listener: ngừoi lắng nghe tốt and always
understands me. Whenever I have a problem, she listens carefully and gives me thoughtful advice.

I also admire her sense of humor: khiếu hài hước—she has a way of making any situation fun and lighthearted. No
matter how bad my day is, she can always make me laugh.

Overall, I love spending time with …… because she is not only fun but also a true friend who supports me in every
situation. She is someone I can trust and rely on, and I feel lucky to have her in my life.

26. Describe a rule (in school or work) that you don’t like

Model answer

One rule that I don’t particularly like is the strict attendance policy: điểm danh in my workplaces. This rule requires
employees to be present every day, and even a few absences can lead to serious consequences, such as disciplinary
actions: hành vi kỷ luật (wage reduction)

Many people in my company feel that this rule is too rigid: nghiêm khắc and does not consider individual
circumstances. While some believe it helps maintain discipline and ensures that people stay engaged, others argue that
it creates unnecessary pressure. For example, if someone is sick or has a personal emergency, they might feel forced to
attend just to avoid penalties: bị phạt. In workplaces, employees may feel that their performance should be judged by
the quality of their work rather than the number of hours they spend in the office.

As for me, I have followed this rule because I didn’t want to face any negative consequences. However, I think a more
flexible approach would be better. If someone is responsible and completes their tasks efficiently, they should be given
some freedom rather than being forced to attend the company every single day.

Part 3:
1. What are the rules students should follow at school?

Students should follow several important rules at school to maintain discipline and create a good learning environment.
For example, they should attend classes on time, complete their homework, and respect teachers and classmates.
Many schools also have rules about wearing uniforms, keeping the classroom clean, and not using mobile phones
during lessons. These rules help students stay focused on their studies and develop good habits.

2. Are the rules at school good or bad?

School rules can be both good and bad. Good rules help students become more responsible and disciplined. For
example, rules about punctuality and respecting others teach students important life skills. However, some rules can be
too strict or unnecessary, like very rigid dress codes or bans on small things like bringing snacks. If rules are fair and
reasonable, they are good, but if they cause too much stress, they can be bad.
3. Do people often violate the rules in Vietnam?

Yes, some students in Vietnam do break the rules, but it depends on the school and the rule itself. Common violations
include being late, using phones in class, or not wearing the correct uniform. Some students also copy homework or
talk during lessons. However, in schools with strict discipline, students follow the rules more closely because they
don’t want to get punished.

4. What rules should children follow at home?

At home, children should follow basic rules to respect their parents and help with household chores. For example, they
should clean their room, do their homework, and not spend too much time on screens. It’s also important for them to
speak politely and follow bedtime rules. These rules help children learn good behavior and responsibility, which will
benefit them as they grow up.

27.Describe a useful skill you learned from an older person

You should say:

What it is
Why the skill can be learned from older people
How you will learn the skill from older people
And explain how you will feel if you master the skill
