Instructions for the Individual Report

Overview

The Individual Report is a research-based assignment where you will investigate a


global issue related to your given topic. Your report should include research from
different sources, analysis of perspectives, and a conclusion based on your findings.
This report must be 800–1000 words.

Steps to Complete Your Report

Step 1: Selecting Your Research Question

●​ Choose a focused question related to your topic:


○​ Grade 7 (Migration): Does migration have social and economic effects on
communities?​

●​ This is a sample question. Ensure your question is researchable and allows


for multiple perspectives.

Step 2: Researching Information

●​ Use credible sources (books, journals, articles, reports, and interviews).


●​ Gather information from all three different perspectives (e.g., Local, National,
and Global)
●​ Keep track of sources and take detailed notes.
Step 3: Structuring Your Report

1.​ Title Page – Include your name, topic, research question, and word count.
2.​ Introduction (150-200 words) – Introduce your research question and explain
its significance.
3.​ Research and Analysis (400-500 words) – Present your research findings with
evidence from different perspectives.
4.​ Possible Course of Action or Solutions (100-150 words) – Suggest solutions
or actions based on your findings.
5.​ Evaluation and Reflection (100-150 words) – Reflect on your research
process, discuss challenges faced, and analyze how your perspective has
changed.
6.​ Conclusion (100-150 words) – Summarize key findings and restate the
significance of your research.
7.​ References – Use a proper citation format (MLA) to list your sources.​

Assessment Rubric (30 Marks)


●​ Research, Analysis & Evaluation - Demonstrates the ability to collect, analyze,
and evaluate information from multiple perspectives with relevant evidence.
●​ Supports arguments with well-researched data and examples.
●​ Critically examines different viewpoints and provides a balanced discussion. [18]
●​ Possible Course of Action or Solutions - Suggests relevant and realistic
solutions or actions based on research findings.
●​ Demonstrates critical thinking in proposing ways to address the issue. [4]
●​ Reflection - Effectively reflects on the research process, highlighting personal
learning, challenges, and any changes in perspective.
●​ Connects findings to broader global implications. [4]
●​ Communication & Structure - Presents a well-structured, clearly written, and
logically organized report.
●​ Uses appropriate academic language and follows citation guidelines.
●​ The report is within the word limit and free from grammatical errors. [4]
Submission Guidelines

●​ Submit your report by 2nd May in PDF (Teams) and Hard copy (to Ms. Prachi)
●​ Ensure the word count is between 800-1000 words.
●​ Plagiarism is not allowed – always cite your sources.
