Criteria - B, C Chem Practice

The document outlines a laboratory report assignment for MYP Year 4/5 students focusing on chemical equations and reactions, specifically the reactivity of metals with hydrochloric acid. Students are tasked with designing an experiment to rank five metals (iron, aluminium, copper, magnesium, and zinc) based on their reactivity. The report includes sections for problem questions, hypothesis, variables, manipulation of variables, materials required, and steps of the experiment.

Q- Some metals are more reactive than others!! [16]

Silver is a metal, gold is a metal but they are of different colours. What else is different about
them? You probably know that something is different between gold jewellery and silver
jewellery.
Metals react with acids to give salt along with the evolution of hydrogen gas.
You are given 5 different metals-iron, aluminium, copper, magnesium, and zinc and the acid is
hydrochloric acid.

PSG/MYP/YEAR-4/5 /CHEMISTRY/chemical equations and reactions 1

Design one experiment that could be conducted to rank the five metals in order from the most
reactive down to the least reactive. You should include:
1. Problem Questions [1]
2. Hypothesis [3]
3. Variables [3]
a. Independent
b. Dependent
c. Controlled
4. Manipulation of Variables [3]
5. Material required [2]
6. Steps of the experiment [4]
