Subject: Joint Procedure between Flight Crew and Cabin Crew
Purpose: Operational procedure
Reference OM-A Issue 3 Rev. 10, Oct 2017, Ch. 2, items 2.1 & 2.2.1

To All pilots
Below are the joint procedures between the flight crew and cabin crew during flight:

1. After takeoff:
 The cabin crew shall not enter the cockpit before 15 minutes and provided that the seat
belt sign is switched off unless a call is received requesting cabin crew entry (whichever
is earlier), as in these moments, pilots are very busy in communication with each other
and with ATC
 The cabin crew shall make periodic checks on the flight deck every 15 minutes to check
the condition of the flight deck crew.
2. During cruise
 Short flight (less than 3 hours): the purser shall start cabin service immediately after
seat belt sign is switched off without PIC notification unless instructed otherwise by the
PIC.
 Long flight (more than 3 hours): the purser shall notify the PIC commencing the cabin
service ensuring that the forward galley and lavatory are secured and monitored
3. After landing:
 When the aircraft comes to the final stop and seat belt sign is switched off, the cabin
doors shall be prepared for arrival (Disarmed) in order to disengage the slides to open
the doors for normal disembarkation
 Purser to check the doors arming/disarming indicator located at the FAP (if applicable).
 PIC to check ECAM doors page to check the cabin doors are disarmed.
 Purser to enter the flight deck to double check the cabin doors are disarmed and get
doors opening clearance from PIC.
 Purser shall take Captain’s Permission for door opening only one time after disarming.
4. On ground operations:
 Any cabin doors operation shall be under the responsibility of the purser except in any
abnormalities required a PIC intervention.
