Functional description

Functional description

The ROS12 control block comprises of an inlet plate, ▼ Symbol ROS12 with mechanical actuation

directional valve sections and an end plate. Parallel channel Bypass

P T
The control blocks are designed due to the 6-way principle
and comprise of a housing (1), control spool (4), load T
holding check valve (2), spool actuation and return system
B B
(3), single/double acting switch valve (5).
With all of the spool axes in their neutral position the flow A
passes via the bypass channel at very low pressure to a b
tank. If one of the control spool is actuated then the
connection from the pump to the consumer is opened via
the fine control grooves, whilst the bypass is throttled by
fine control grooves. If the pump pressure exceeds the 2 4 5
consumer pressure, the pressure fluid starts to flow over
the check valve to the consumer. With further movement
Ports
of the control spool (4) the flow is increasingly diverted
P Pump port
from the bypass channel to the consumer (fine control).
A, B Consumer port
The spool stroke is divided into three phases:
T Reservoir port
▶ overlap pressure,
▶ flow fine control range (notch open), 1 Valve housing
▶ residual stroke (fully open). 2 Check valve
Due to the large fine control range of the spool stroke it is 3 Spring cover
4 Control spool with tongue
possible to sensitively control the consumers.

A number of consumers can be operated simultaneously. When directional valves I and II are moved to position 2
