Background and Rationale of WAP:
This initiative is designed to equip DepEd teachers with the skills to harness the full potential of Microsoft 365, enhancing their teaching
practices and enriching the educational experience for students. By fostering stronger connections within DepEd, this program aligns with
the department’s mission of delivering education that is equitable, accessible, and inclusive to all.
The training program, scheduled for November 25-29, 2024, spans five comprehensive modules over one week. These modules provide an
introduction to Microsoft 365’s suite of tools, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, Forms, SharePoint, OneDrive, Learning
Accelerators, and Copilot. Each session focuses on practical, hands-on learning, allowing educators to gain in-depth knowledge of these
essential applications and how to integrate them into their teaching processes. The ultimate goal is to empower educators to seamlessly
incorporate technology into their day-to-day operations, improving both efficiency and the overall learning experience for students.
Moreover, this initiative is closely aligned with key DepEd policies. It adheres to DepEd Order No. 42, s. 2016, which outlines guidelines on
daily lesson preparation with a focus on ICT integration, as well as DepEd Order No. 78, s. 2010, and DepEd Order No. 16, s. 2023, which
emphasize the DepEd Computerization Program. Furthermore, the program supports the objectives of DepEd Order No. 42, s. 2017, which
highlights the Positive Use of ICT in education. By adhering to these policies, the initiative not only provides essential training but also
ensures that it aligns with the broader vision of DepEd for technology integration in education.
