THE LEGENDARY STAR-LORD Sample script
Hey, super excited to be working with you. General
disclaimer since we've never worked before: this script is
a blueprint. Use it as a starting point. I encourage, nay,
demand you bring a fresh eye to this script and make them
your pages. If you see an opportunity to make things more
interesting, visual, dynamic, clearer, awesome, whatever--
go for it. I'll adjust the dialog afterwards accordingly.

PAGE 01
1. Space. In the foreground, the dark side of the moon. On
its face, we see a small flash of gold light. We're too far
to see much detail yet. In the background, we see the
Earth, tiny in the distance. And beyond that, stars.
2. BIG PANEL! Upshot of Thanos. He's floating, smiling
wickedly from ear to ear, crackling with energies from his
hands and his eyes.
3. Thanos is holding something in his hand, and blasting it
with his eye beams at full intensity. It looks powerful and
violent...Thanos is powerful and violent!
SFX
FWSSSH
4. He is done with the eye beams. We see in his hands a big
bolder he has fused together. It is charred and smoldering.
THANOS
(mixed case)

1. Thanos puts the boulder amongst other charred rocks. He
is smiling with quiet satisfaction. He is building
something.
2. Pull back--WAY back. We see Thanos has built a giant
monument to Lady Death on the dark side of the moon. Her
hooded skull face on the face of the moon. The size of
several football fields. We see Thanos, looking tiny, in
the eye of the monument.
3. Upshot of Thanos. Looking alert, like he just sensed
something something. Behind him, in the sky--a comet? It's
pink and purple, like the Mandalay Gem in issue 1.
THANOS
(lower case)
eh?
4. A giant pink-and-purple armor fist punches Thanos in the
face. (See next page for description of the armor.) Big
hit. Looks painful.

1. BIG PANEL! Upshot of Starlord (Peter). He's encased in
glowing energy armor, generated by the Mandalay Gem on his
chest. (See issue 1 for Mandalay Gem reference.) We should
see Peter's mask, otherwise he can be covered or the armor
can be transparent. The aesthetic of the armor is "alien"
and "bad-ass". It's armor that makes Peter look like he
could actually kick Thanos' ass.
PETER
Yo.
Purple potato head man.
You've been cruisin' for a
bruisin'!
2. Long shot. A huge ditch plowed through the dirty surface
of the moon. At the far end is Thanos' body. Peter's punch
threw him far.
PETER
Achin' for a breakin'!
Anglin' for a--
3. Close on Thanos. He's smiling. A little blood trickling
down his face.
THANOS
Quill.
You're late.

1. Establishing shot. Thanos and Peter in a stand off.
THANOS
Our truce has been up for quite
some time.
PETER
And you've been busy.
Doing bad, baaaad things.
Thanos-ish things.
THANOS
I am surprised you are surprised.
PETER
I'm surprised that you're
surprised that I'm surprised, and
no backs!
You thought you could do what you
want my hands were tied. You were
wrong!
2. Long shot. Thanos shoots two huge cosmic energy blasts
out of his hands. Peter's form is barely visible in the
explosion. Looks like Thanos just wiped Peter off the face
of the moon.
SFX
KRAZAK
THANOS
Was I now?
3. Thanos standing in front of a giant plume of dust where
Peter used to be.
THANOS
Pathetic.

1. Big panel! Peter flying out of the plume of smoke like a
bat out of hell. It looks like he's unharmed from Thanos'
blast.
PETER
I never should have let you
escape!
THANOS
WHAT?!
You survive my cosmic energy?
3. Peter in mid-air. Thanos grabs him by the throat.
SFX
THWAK
4. Peter wrestling with Thanos' hands around his neck.
PETER
I never should have agreed to our
truce.
5. Close up on Thanos. Smiling. Eyes powering up.
THANOS
Regret stings. But this will sting
worse.
SFX
(small)

1. Big panel! Thanos lets go, and blasts Peter's face with
eye beams, but they bounce right off the gem armor.
THANOS
You never should have come after
me!
SFX
FSSSSH
2. Close on Thanos. Screaming in frustration and rage.
THANOS
HOW?!
I've torn you apart with my bare
hands!
3. Close on the Mandalay Gem on Peter's armor.
THANOS
(off panel)
That crystal--!
4. Peter's Star-Lord mask retracts (but not his gem-armor).
He's smiling.
PETER
Got you now, Sasquatch.
I'm gonna make you pay for every
life you took during our truce.
I'll--
5. Close on Peter. Thanos' hands have grabbed him on either
side of his head, by his ears. Peter looks surprised.
PETER
(lower case)
uh
6. Thanos brings Peter's head down hard, and knees him in
the face.
SFX
