INTRODUCTION
Every year, millions of people lose their arms due to accidents, medical conditions,
or birth defects.
Causes of limb loss: Road accidents,Workplace injuries, Medical conditions (like
diabetes and infections),War and Natural disasters.
Existing prosthetic arms are expensive. Many people cannot afford them,
especially in developing countries.

TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS
◦ Electromyography Sensor(EMG SENSOR)-To detect muscle signals
from the residual limb.
◦ Arduino Nano- To process EMG signals and control the prosthetic
movements.
◦ Servo Motors- To enable variety of movements to the prosthetic.
◦ Buck Converter Module- To convert higher DC voltage to lower
stage voltage.

CHALLENGES AND RISKS

◦ Material Selection
▫ Selecting lightweight, durable, and cost-effective materials is challenging.
◦ Motor Precision
▫ Inconsistent motor control can lead to jerky or unreliable movements.
◦ Battery Efficiency
▫ Battery size must balance weight, capacity, and runtime.

FUTURE ADVANCEMENTS
▪BRAIN COMPUTER INTERFACE(BCI): BCI translate brain activity into precise commands for the
prosthetic, offering a more intuitive and seamless user experience. This provides not only
improved control accuracy but also reduces physical exertion and fatigue.
▪HEALTH MONITORING SYSTEM: Integrating health monitoring features into the myoelectric
prosthetic arm could add valuable functionality, especially for users who may benefit from real-
time health tracking.
▪Improved Sensor Technology: Using more sensitive and accurate EMG sensors for better signal
detection. Multi-channel EMG sensors can provide more detailed control over prosthetic
movements. Integrating touch and pressure sensors for enhanced feedback and grip control.
