INTRODUCTION
Learning Indonesian has the goal of students being skilled in communicating, both
verbally and in writing (Natalia, 2017:215) . Communication requires good language skills.
Tarigan (2013:1) states that every student must control four skills language : reading , writing
, speaking and listening . These four skills will always be closely related to one another, even

though they have different characteristics and goals. Apart from being the foundation for
learning Indonesian, reading and writing skills are also very crucial for students in accessing
and processing various information contained in other subjects (Subandiyah, 2015: 113).
Nurhayati (2022) defines literacy as a cognitive capability that allows individuals to process
and utilize language in various contexts, from personal to professional.
Based on Nurhayati et al. (2019), writing is an art form in which writers create written
works using language as a medium to express thoughts and imagination. Writing is an
important skill that students need to master, including writing explanatory texts. Writing is a
process that involves not only the expression of ideas, but also a deep understanding of the
concepts conveyed. (Sobari, 2012). However, the ability to write explanatory text is still a
challenge for many students. Some of the obstacles that are often faced include the use of
complex technical terms, limited knowledge, and difficulty in organizing ideas into a coherent
paragraph. Another factor that causes writing difficulties is the low interest of students in
writing explanatory texts and the lack of effectiveness of the learning methods currently used.
This statement is in line with Permana et al, (2020), Aeni & Lestari (2018) indicating that
writing learning needs to be better designed to overcome the difficulties that students often
experience.
Efforts to increase students' interest and skills in writing explanatory texts are by using
innovative learning models and media. Asyafah, (2019) states that there are variations in
learning models can give enthusiasm , avoidance boredom , involving interest students , and
motivate during the learning process . The learning model that can be used is the Picture and
Picture model with the help of learning media, namely the Milshake application. Both
Husnaitun (2020, p. 69) and Fauziddin (2018) explain that picture and picture is a learning
method that relies on pictures arranged sequentially. The goal is to help students build a better
understanding of a topic.
Not only choosing the right learning model, learning objectives will be achieved if there
is appropriate learning media that makes it easier for students in the learning process. Ahmadi
& Kadarisma, (2020) emphasize that learning media has a crucial role in the success of the
learning process. The media doesn't only works as source information, but also can help student
become more interested and motivated. Apart from that, teachers also play role important in
make learning become interesting. By utilizing the right media, teachers can motivate students
to be actively involved in the learning process (Maulana et al., 2023). With increasingly rapid

technological developments, there are many interactive learning media that can be developed
by teachers. In line with Wahyuni et al., (2022) that in the digital era like now, teachers are
required to continue to innovate in creating learning media that suits the dynamic needs of
students. Educators need to create learning media that is not only informative, but also
interesting and interactive. Learning media that is in accordance with the explanation above is
website-based learning media with the help of using the milkshake application. The milkshake
app is A website maker application that can makes it easier Who just For create a friendly
website . On the app the there is Lots available template options make the website more modern
as well elegant.
Similar studies conducted by G Pangestu, et al (2018) stated that data analysis showed
that the Picture and Picture learning model was more effective in improving student learning
outcomes compared to the lecture method. This research, apart from wanting to improve
students' explanation text writing skills, also wants to increase interest in learning. This is in
line with research conducted by Pangestu that students' interest in learning has increased
significantly when the picture and picture learning model is applied. The results of the next
study conducted by Ananta, et al (2023) indicated that the Picture and Picture learning model
with the help of sequential image media was able to improve the ability of class VI students to
compose explanatory texts more effectively when compared to the group-centered learning
model. This research shows that the choice of the picture and picture learning model for
writing explanatory text material is very effective because it is proven that there is an
improvement compared to using the cooperative model.
The explanation of the arguments above is the basis for implementing the Picture and
Picture model with the help of e-learning media which will be designed in an attractive and
flexible manner. Apart from that, learning media is easy to use and can be accessed by students
at any time, of course by following technological developments. The use of science and
technology taken is a website. The implementation of the Picture and Picture model with the
help of learning media in the form of a milkshake application will be collaborated to increase
learning interest in writing explanatory texts. In contrast to previous research, the use of the
milkshake application is not in the form of an elearning application in general which requires
students to download the application on their respective devices. This milkshake application is
very flexible because students don't need to download it to be able to access it. The learning
media for this milkshake application is only a link that can be shared via WhatsApp. From this

link, students can directly access the learning in it. This research aims to describe the responses
of class XI students to the Picture and Picture model assisted by the Milshake application in
increasing interest in learning to write explanatory texts. It is hoped that this research can
contribute to improving the quality of learning to write explanatory texts in schools.
METHOD
This research method uses a qualitative descriptive approach as follows explained by
Lindawati (2016), descriptive qualitative that is analysis and visualization results information
obtained in the field for increase interest student in write text explanation. The goal For describe
response student to application of the Picture and Picture model help Milkshake app. Ahmadi
and Kartiwi (2021) also define method qualitative descriptive focuses on data collection and
presentation objective. The aim of this research is to find out how much influence the
application of the Picture and Picture model assisted by the Milkshake application has on
students' interest in learning to write explanatory texts. The data collection techniques used in
this research are questionnaires and tests, which will be analyzed qualitatively, then after the
data has been collected conclusions will be drawn and presented descriptively. The subjects of
this research were students of class XI Pharmacy 2 at SMK Bhakti Kencana Soreang. The class
studied was class XI Pharmacy 2 with a total of 30 students.
RESULT AND DISCUSSION
Result
Based on the results of the analysis, class XI-2 students who filled out the questionnaire
enjoyed studying Indonesian language lessons, especially explanatory text material. This can
be seen from the average results which show 72% of students feel comfortable when the
learning process runs conducively. Apart from that, students also feel happy when there is
group learning because students can be active so it doesn't cause them to feel sleepy and bored
during learning. Students' attitudes towards the learning media Milksahke application showed
that an average of 73% of students felt they had the opportunity to study explanatory texts
anywhere and anytime without being limited by time. Students also feel more enthusiastic
when learning to use the milkshake application as a learning medium. Students' attitudes
towards the picture and picture method showed an average of 83% of students who felt that the
presence of pictures helped them understand the concepts taught in the explanatory text.

However, another 64% on average felt that pictures were often not clear enough or did not
support clarifying concepts in explanatory text. Apart from that, 66% of students also felt that
there were situations where the images presented did not match the material or were more
confusing than helpful. Overall the average percentage shows a result of 73% in the "good"
category. Based on the results of the recapitulation of the writing abilities of class.
To measure students' responses to learning interest, learning media, and the methods
used, researchers distributed questionnaires using a Likert scale with four options: Very Agree,
Agree, No Agree, and Very much No Agree. The results of the questionnaire are then processed
and presented in table form. The following is a table of student questionnaire data presentation
