CONSIDERATIONS IN TEACHING WHAT WILL I DO IN MY

LITERATURE LITERATURE CLASSROOM TO
ASSURE THAT THESE
CONSIDERATION ARE ACHIEVED?
K to 12 English Language Arts Curriculum I will design my lessons based on the
Framework curriculum standards, ensuring that students
develop essential skills such as critical
thinking, communication, and creativity. I
will integrate 21st-century skills and
provide opportunities for collaboration,
problem-solving, and self-expression
through literature.
Definitions and Benefits of Literature I will emphasize how literature reflects
human experiences, emotions, and cultures.
By discussing its significance in shaping
perspectives and values, I will encourage
students to see literature as a tool for self-
discovery, empathy, and social awareness.
Literature Criticism Theories To deepen students’ analytical skills, I will
introduce various literary criticism
approaches such as Formalism, Marxism,
Feminism, Structuralism, and Reader-
Response Theory. These perspectives will
help students critically examine texts,
recognize underlying themes, and interpret
literature beyond its surface meaning.
Literature Genres, Branches, and Authors I will expose students to a diverse range of
literary works, including poetry, prose,
drama, and creative nonfiction. By studying
different authors from various backgrounds
and time periods, students will gain a
broader understanding of literary styles,
traditions, and evolving themes in literature.
Cultural and Historical Context of Learners I will encourage students to analyze
or of the Literary Texts literature within its cultural and historical
settings, helping them appreciate how
societal norms, traditions, and historical
events influence literary works.
Additionally, I will provide opportunities
for students to relate their personal
experiences and cultural backgrounds to the
texts they study.
Models in Teaching Literature To make learning more engaging and
interactive, I will utilize different teaching
strategies such as literature circles, Socratic
seminars, dramatization, multimedia
presentations, role-paly, and digital
storytelling. These methods will cater to
diverse learning styles and encourage active
participation in literary discussions.

Comprehension Levels in Teaching I will guide students through the different

Literature levels of comprehension: literal
(understanding basic details and facts),
interpretative (inferring meanings and
analyzing underlying messages), critical
(evaluating themes, arguments, and biases),
and creative (applying literary concepts
through writing, dramatization, or
alternative storytelling). To deepen students'
engagement, I will integrate Higher-Order
Thinking Skills (HOTS) by encouraging
analysis, evaluation, and creative synthesis
of ideas. Additionally, I will incorporate the
three learning domains: cognitive
(enhancing critical thinking and analytical
abilities), affective (fostering emotional
connections, empathy, and appreciation of
literature), and psychomotor (applying
learning through dramatization, role-
playing, and artistic expression). This
holistic approach will ensure a richer, more
meaningful literary experience for students.
