22-The Fabrication and Characteristics of GD - Sub - 2 - Sub - O - Sub - 3 - Sub - Particle Reinforced Aluminum Matrix Composite

This study investigates the fabrication and characteristics of Gd2O3 particle reinforced aluminum matrix composites as potential neutron absorbing materials. The results indicate that Gd2O3 offers superior neutron capture ability and mechanical properties compared to B4C, requiring significantly smaller reinforcement contents. The findings suggest that Gd2O3 reinforced composites could effectively replace B4C composites in future applications.
