PROFILE SUMMARY
All-rounder student with strong fundamentals in Agronomy, Weed Science, Soil Sciences,
Horticulture, and Crop Protection seeks a research-oriented master's program with an
assistantship in Crop, Soil, and Environmental Sciences. My career objective includes the
enhancement of my skills with advanced knowledge so that I can contribute to solving major
challenges related to agricultural and environmental issues globally.
RESEARCH INTERESTS
EDUCATION
Agronomy
Cropping Patterns and Sowing Methods: I have explored a range of cropping patterns and sowing techniques
to identify those that best support sustainable crop production and maximize yield.
Integrated Weed Management: My work has focused on developing weed management strategies that reduce
environmental impact while promoting healthy crop growth.
Soil Health and Fertilizer Use: I’ve evaluated how combining organic manures, biofertilizers, and synthetic
fertilizers can improve soil health and enhance crop productivity.
Irrigation Techniques: I have studied various irrigation methods, including surface, sprinkler, and drip systems,
to understand their effects on water efficiency, crop development, and overall yield.
Agronomic Practices: Gained hands-on experience in key farming activities, including land preparation, seed
treatment, sowing, irrigation, weed control, harvesting, and threshing for both Brassica napus and Zea mays.
Crop Protection: Worked on integrated management strategies to protect crops from insect pests, diseases,
nutrient deficiencies, and weed infestations, ensuring healthy crop growth and optimal yields.
Soil Science
Field Sampling: I have extensive experience in collecting soil, plant tissue, and irrigation water samples from the
field, ensuring accurate and reliable data for research and analysis.
Laboratory Work: I’m skilled in testing soil and water, with hands-on experience using tools like pH meters and
EC meters to evaluate soil properties and nutrient content.
Soil Analysis: I regularly assess various soil characteristics, including texture, structure, infiltration rate, pH,
electrical conductivity, moisture content, and both particle and bulk density, to better understand soil health and
fertility.
Hands-on training on soil sample testing and micronutrient analysis under Dr. Vivek Sharma
(Soil Chemist), Department of Soil Sciences, PAU
Collection and preparation of soil samples for analysis
Estimation of Phosphorus (P) in soils by UV Spectroscopy
Estimation of Potassium (K) in soils by Flame Photometry
Micronutrients (Fe, Zn, Cu, Mn) analysis in soils by using Atomic Absorption Spectroscopy
Determination of pH and EC levels in soils
Plant Pathology:
Plant Disease Diagnosis: I have hands-on experience diagnosing plant diseases, identifying the causal
organisms, and implementing effective management strategies to control them.
Fungicide Use and Application: Skilled in calculating fungicide spray concentrations, applying pesticides
safely, and using appropriate methods to ensure effective disease control.
Bio-Control Agents Production: I’ve been involved in the mass production of bio-control agents like
Trichoderma and Trichogramma species, contributing to eco-friendly pest management practices.
Entomology:
Horticulture
Nutrient Analysis and Plant Propagation: Gained experience in estimating sugar,
mineral, and vitamin content in fruits using advanced techniques. Additionally, I developed
practical skills in plant propagation methods such as grafting, budding, and layering.
During the ELP training at PAU, we gained hands-on experience in fruit crop
hybridization, learned to identify disease symptoms and physical disorders in crops, and
explored propagation techniques. The exposure visits to PHPTC and CIPHET enriched our
understanding, offering valuable insights into advanced agricultural practices and
research
