PROJECT DESCRIPTION
Thank you for your interest in participating in a Language Identification project. This document
provides an overview of the study (the “Project”), and the terms of participation.
Description
The Project. TELUS International AI (“TIAI”) is seeking Language Annotators to be
responsible for supporting our moderators in reaching the quality targets
by providing guidance on the project rules, calibrating with the
moderators, and cooperating closely with the internal management team
and the client.
Project Sponsor. TIAI is collecting the information that you submit on behalf of a client of
TIAI. Our Client (the “Customer”) is not affiliated with TIAI and is a
separate company that operates in the Internet Technology industry
(“Customer”). We will provide you with the name of the Customer prior
to the commencement of the Project if required by Applicable Law. If
you decide at that time not to participate in the Project you may withdraw
from it without any penalty. Any consent that you have provided to
transfer information to the Customer will not be effective (i.e., we will
consider your consent withdrawn).
Location. The Project can be completed remotely.
Schedule. ● Expected Project Duration: April 2025 - May 2025.
● Estimated time to complete the task: 4 weeks approximately.
● Estimated time to complete the task: 4h/day on average, 5 days per
week (20h/week on average).
o The schedule requires availability throughout the day
(including mornings and noon) and flexibility to adjust your
schedule. Some weekends and bank holidays will be
included.
Frequency. Each participant can only complete the Project once.
Eligibility. To be eligible to be considered for the Project, you must meet the
following criteria:
● Native speakers of Kalenjin (Kenya).
● Fluent written and spoken communication in English.
● Able to provide availability during weekends (part-time).
● Avid social media user or aware of current trends online.
● Stable internet connection and steady electricity with updated
hardware and OS.
● Previous experience in AI projects (transcription, annotation,
search relevance, etc.).
Payment Rate (if Participants that are selected for the Project and that complete the Project
applicable). will receive:
● Training compensation: 16 USD after successfully completing the
training.
● Live production: 4USD per hour.

● This is an independent contractor opportunity.
● Payment will be processed via Hyperwallet.
Selection Process:
TIAI collects personal information in order to determine whether you are eligible to be considered for
the Project. If we believe that you meet the criteria established by the Customer, then we may forward
your information to the Customer. The Customer will ultimately decide whether to include you within
the Project. If you are selected, you will be provided a link, either by TIAI or by Customer, to
complete the Project.
Note that submission of this Participation Agreement is not a guarantee that you will be selected for
the Project. Even if you meet all of the eligibility requirements, you may not be selected for the
Project for various reasons. For example, TIAI or the Customer may have received a sufficient
number of participants with similar characteristics.
Data Used and Shared:
Contract Data. Contract Data is collected about people who would like to be
considered for our projects. Contract Data is utilized to, among other
things, engage with you, set up your profile, administer our
contractual relationship, determine project-related eligibility, and meet
our regulatory obligations. If you seek to participate in this Project,
we may share some Contract Data with the Customer in order for
them to determine eligibility and evaluate you for inclusion in the
Project. For more information about how we use, collect, and share

Demographic Data. Demographic Data refers to additional data that we collect, which is
not mandatory when registering with us, and that helps us evaluate
your suitability for projects. If you seek to participate in this Project,
we may share some Demographic Data with the Customer in order for
them to evaluate you for inclusion in the Project. For more
information about how we use, collect, and share Demographic Data,
as well as your rights to that data, visit our Community Data Privacy
Notice.
Work Product Data. Work Product Data refers to data that we, or our Customer, collects
specific to this Project. Whether we collect Work Product Data on
behalf of our Customer, or our Customer collects it directly, our
Customer controls how it is used and shared. For more information
about how the Work Product Data will be used and shared, you should
review our Customer’s privacy notice. If you are selected, the name of
our customer will be provided to you prior to the initiation of the
Project if required by applicable Laws. If you choose not to
participate after being informed of the Customer’s name, you may
withdraw from the Project, and withdraw any consent that was
provided to transmit your information to the Customer, without
detriment.
Special Category Some of our projects involve the collection of data that may be more
Data. sensitive than others. If this Project involves such data, we will
separately ask your consent to collect and transmit it to our Customer.
