Travel essentials checklist:

1. Documents and valuables
1. ID card/passport;
2. Cash (change for buying water and snacks);
3. Phone watch/mobile phone
2. Clothing Suggestions
1. Shoes (most important!)
Non-slip sports shoes/hiking shoes (the Yinzi Cave is slippery and the road on
Damei Mountain is gravel, so the soles should have deep grooves).
Sandals/Croco shoes (you can step on water when hiking in Yulong River, so it
is recommended that children wear sandals that can be fixed to prevent being
washed away).
Avoid lightning: slippers, flat shoes (easy to fall on mountain roads), new
shoes (rub your feet).
2. Clothes
Jacket:
Quick-drying short-sleeves + sun-proof ice sleeves (Yangshuo is hot and
humid in summer and it is easy to sweat when hiking).
Lightweight sun-protective clothing (the ultraviolet rays in Yulong River are
strong in the afternoon, UPF50+ is best).
Bottoms:
Sports quick-drying pants/cropped pants (mosquito-proof + scratch-proof,
children can wear wear-resistant trousers).
Spare clothes (2 sets, as you may get wet due to dripping water in the Silver
Cave and the shallows of the Li River).
3. Hats & Accessories
A wide-brimmed sun hat (with a windproof cord for strong winds when
climbing large mountains).
Children’s sun hats (choose bright colors to make them easier for the team to
identify).
2. Protective equipment
1. Sun protection
High-factor sunscreen or sunscreen spray (convenient and quick to reapply,
physical sunscreen is safer for children).
2. Anti-mosquito and anti-insect
Mosquito repellent spray/electric mosquito coils (there are many mosquitoes
near the Yulong River, it is safer for children to stick them on their clothes).
Anti-itch cream (such as herbal cream, for sudden mosquito bites).
3. Others
A portable raincoat (the weather in Yangshuo is changeable, and it is
inconvenient to climb the mountain with an umbrella).
Disinfectant wipes + Band-Aids (available for children’s abrasions).
3. Food & Water
Water/cup
Dry food (to eat on the train when leaving)
4. Toiletries
Toothbrush, towel (or disposable towel)
